Re: video???
I booked my photographer and they included a videographer in our package. At first I wanted a short editied video, but they told me that all the editing really raises the price, so we are getting a chaptered DVD instead.
Everyone I've talked to told me that they watch their video more than they flip through their album, so I guess it must be worth it.
Hope this helps.

Re: video???
I wasn't sure but the two reasons I kept hearing the most were: you won't be able to see everything that goes on at your wedding and the video helps capture those moments; and the other reason is that you will have live footage of people you care about who won't be with you forever (sad as that sounds...). I have been to 3 videographers and their prices are all about $1500-$2000 for a basic video (we are still looking...). It's def an expense but I think it is worht it...I have heard of couples who regret not having one and then it's too late...don't want to be in that position.

Re: video???
I chose other... I'm confused too!
I knew for sure I didn't want it, ever, never ever, its like the tackiest thing and to have all those weird camera people in your face. Who needs it.
But then ... I heard too many brides say how much they like it and really happy they had it...
and then... I called a few video people for prices...
and ... then I found a cheap video person, and they said to me, if you are not sure about video, think this way
'if you could see your grandmothers wedding video, would you want to?'
really my jaw dropped and I had nothing to say...
I'm so confused now

Just FYI, not all wedding videographers are in people's faces. My videographer didn't do that - they were mostly on the sidelines and I really didn't notice them most of the day. Just something to consider.

Wow, that includes editing? I thought it would be much more. Maybe I should ask my photog. how much more it would be to add one ....

Re: video???
I didn't want one at first either but, when my photographer explained to me that my guests and I wouldn't even know that they were there I gave it a second thought. I decided to go for it. I want my kids to see it one day. The cost was $1,500.00 (edited) with a baby photo montage at the beginning with music.

Re: video???
Fh did not want video but I got a great package for a reasonable price. I want my kids to be able to watch it one day. My cousins 11 yr old loves watching her mom's wedding video and seeing what her grandma looked like, etc. Even if the video is cheesy to you, it captures your family history and I think it is worth it! You don't need an all out package - just get something simple.

Re: video???
We are not doing video because of the simple fact that I completely freeze up when a video camera comes near me.....I hate the sound of my voice, I sound like a little girl when it is played back. Just not for us...

Re: video???
we got married almost 3 years ago. we got lucky in that my best friends dad LOVES this kind of stuff, and has a great digital video camera. he is also very religious and doens't like to dance or drink. SO we were able to have him video teh wedding for us, and not feel like it was ruining his time- he wouldn't have been dancing anyway! he even came to the rehearsal to figure out where to stand, etc. in the end, he put it all on DVD for us with chapters so we can watch just the reception or just the ceremony... and he wouldn't take any money! we gave him a gift cert for a nice restaurant. ANYWAY... with that being said, i'm SOOO glad we had him do it! the whole day goes SOOOO fast, and its such a blur- and at the end of the night you're like 'what did we just do?!' LOL so its GREAT to have the video to watch and relive the day in action, hear what the pastor said, hear the best man's speech again,etc... i think its worth it. also, they totally don't get in the way. i was in my friends wedding this weekend, and totally didn't even notice the videographer all day. and i was part of the bridal party so he was constantly focusig on us! they're really not as 'in your face' as they used to be.

Just do it....you won't regret it. If you don't do it...you may regret it. Which one do you feel comfortable with? I'd go with getting a video.

I wish I could afford PennyLane, but I'm going with Rambling Rose...who I am very happy with so far...I heard many great things about them. And their price is RIGHT!
