i would like to buy fi a video camera for his bday---and this way we could also take it on our hm---i would like to get a pretty small but -great quality- one so that it won't be a pain in the neck to take around w/us (store easily, etc.).....does anyone have any suggestions on a good one to get? brands and prices please!:)

We have a JVC...its pretty small - not the smallest out there (I think Sony has the smallest one - $$$) but still pretty small. We got it at Sears 2 years ago, so there's probably a newer model out by now...I don't remember exactly how much it cost but I think it was between $600-$800. It also takes digital pictures - which is practically all we used it for until I bought FH a digital camera for his b-day.

we have a samsung scd67. Does a great job with stills as well as movies, which is rare. Plus not too expensive.
I bought FH the Sony Micro MV DCRIP55 digital camcorder for Christmas this year. It cost $$$ but it is worth every penny. It has a Carl Zeiss lens and the picture quality is amazing!!! I would highly reccommend it...def. worth the $$$ and think of it as an investment!
Edited to add: It is so small it! It's the size of my palm!! Very light and not a nuisance to carry around. Can't wait to take it on vacation!!
