FH and I are thinking of hiring a separate contractor for video instead of the photography, thinking we can save a bit of money>
What have you ladies done, what photography company and video have you used and suggest for the wedding?
What Video places should we look at?
I have heard many great things about duet, pro line, fine arts , what do they charge.

Re: Video for weddiing
If you dont book phot/video together, it is more expensive. I am going through this now.. My photgrapher does not do videography, and all of the companies i have looked into are $3000+

Thanks, i will look into him.
It is so much money for both, we are thinking of having a friend video the important parts only.
We will have to wait and see.
Thanks for the info

Re: Video for weddiing
for video I suggest Golden Moments. They do amaziing work and use HD video cameras. Here is a link to my video trailer they had waiting for me when i got back from my honeymoon
What is the cost for both of these two video companies mentioned, if i may ask.
We are currently checking them both on line to see what they do.
Thanks again ladies

Re: Video for weddiing
yesss it's much more expensive to do it separetly, so if you are happy with what your photographer does for video.. use them!

Re: Video for weddiing
Wild Rose is amazing.
but the other girls are right.. it's cheaper to book photo and video together. I booked seperate and am def paying more than others who booked it together.. but FH and I couldn't find a photog/video combo that we loved BOTH things... so we did it seperate.

Re: Video for weddiing
Seperate video can be VERY expensive. Think about where you want to spend your money. Yes having a 'film feature' video is great, but the reality is how many times are you really going to watch it? You can get a great film thrown in with your photo package!

We love Couped Up. FM if you have questions. Rob was so great to work with, and the finished product was beyond awesome.

Re: Video for weddiing
I highly recommend my videographer, Kevin. His company is called Precious Moments and he's located in Bay Shore. I'm very into video and have taken some classes on editing and his work is really great. He's awesome to work with and everyone at my wedding LOVED him.
Here's the sneak preview he finished when I was on my honeymoon.

Re: Video for weddiing
I hired my videographer separate from my photographer because my photographer did not offer video. I hired Gil from Fade to Black. His work is amazing and he works with your budget. He is a vendor on here.

Re: Video for weddiing
My photographer doesn't do video either...so we are having our DJ do it. Have you cheked into that? If you have booked a DJ, you should ask them if they offer the service. If you havn't booked yet, think about looking for DJ's that do both so you can keep your costs down!
