i have both and love both!!!!!
Kinect is a little difficult if you dont have enough room... we have to turn the TV sideways when we play kinect cause sometimes you jump out of the cameras view!!!
kinect is crazy awesome because it scans your body... so it knows how tall you are. Some games it actually takes pictures of you... which are pretty hilarious to look at afterwards!!!!

I have the Wii and it's great, but I've heard the Kinect is better. I know nothing about PS move so it can't be all that.

i have the Wii and the PS3 Move ...
the Wii is good but it only scans your hand movement, not your entire body. Also, there's an extra attachment for the controllers which, IMO, doesn't do much at all (it's supposed to make the motion sensing more precise).
i pretty much hate the Move because it requires a handheld controller and just simulates the Wii (poorly). Also, there aren't many good games for this.
i've never used the Kinect but have heard great things ... it's the only system so far that does not require ANY handheld controller ... you just move your body and it 'sees' what you're doing.

Playstation move isn't that great since it is like the wii and there are not many games out for it. Wii is great because it has alot of games but it really depends on your taste. Honestly that system collects dust in my house. The kinect is amazing and I agree that it does need some space. What exactly do you want the motion for?
If it is for dancing I highly recommend the Kinect. With the Wii you can always just cheat by moving only your arms where the Kinect makes you use your whole body. I also love the voice activation the Kinect has. The only problem is that there are still not alot of games for it.

What exactly do you want the motion for?
well im not really into video games, per say, but the ones where you move look fun.
i dont have a HUGE living room so i was concerned if the kinect would work. i would def need to move my coffee table...but how much space do you really need?
also. any idea if these consoles are around to stay? i know im jumping on late to this bandwagon, so id be upset if i bought something now and a brand new super cool system was going to displace my console in a few months....
i dont follow any of the 'gaming' news, but i thought maybe you are your FHs/DHs might know what is the best to buy.

Nope have all of them as well!
For the Kinect you need at least 6 feet of space. The space issue can be fixed by attaching the Kinect to the top of the tv. I think all the systems are around to stay except at the gaming conference they just announced the new Wii U. So buying a Wii now will just be outdated and its not an HD console so it can look a little crappy if you have a HD television.
The xbox and ps3 should be around for some time. The plus with the ps3 is that it has a blu ray player if you don't already have one. It's not worth it to buy for the PS move. The xbox makes it easier to play online with friends. Also the Kinect is compatible with Netflix so you can control it with your hands as well as Zune if you have that instead of an Ipod.
My FH is clueless to gaming. I always have to tell him what's going on.

if you want to just play games, then i think it depends what kidns of games you enjoy.
if you like sports (football, baseball, etc) or first person shooter games, then ps3 or xbox are best
Wii generally has more adventure games and side-scrolling games.
ps: although the wi is not HD, as the poster above mentioned, i don't have a problem with the quality of the video ... it's not GREAT, per se ... but it's def good![]()
