Video Help for all of you

Video Help for all of you

I decide to have a post just to let you all know that YOU WILL REGRET NOT GETTING A VIDEO. I work at the Watermill and I have heard a dozen times 'We should have gotten the video'. Two of my friends are married and really truely regret not getting the video. Sure it sounds like a waste, but it is without a doubt something you will all regret!! Trust me, please. As far as watching it again, you will. Its not the same as a home movie. You'll show yours friends, your family, your children some day!!! Also, a photographer cannot capture the same things like your entire vows. Its a moment you want to remember. They are so inexpessive. I guess I don't understand why you would cut it out. You can find a videographer for $1000. So buy your tiara on Ebay, make your own favors, don't get rosepetals on your honeymoon, trust me this is something worth spending money on.

Best of Luck

Ok, let me start off by saying I agree with you whole heartedly and that we are getting a video.

But... I really don't think it's fair on your part to say that you KNOW they are going to regret not getting a video. To offer your opinion is one thing, to post something on here as an authority is another.

I don't mean this to be offensive. JMO...

Re: Video Help for all of you

I just have heard a lot of talk on this board about not getting video. My friend was crying a month after her wedding and still says thats her biggest regret and if she could do it all over again, she would. I also work in the business and see it all the time. One bride has the video and another does not. Its at that moment the bride without the video regrets it. I don't know of anyone who is already married who didn't have a video who doesn't regret not. Sorry if it came across harse, this was meant for helps, soley that. Since we all have so much time till our weddings, I wouldn't rule out something because of $$$. We all decide was we will splurge on, but video rarely is a splurge, just based on who we all have booked.

I love you all and wish you the best of luck.

By the same token I have 2 friends that regret HAVING the video. So its all relative.

It is something to seriously consider and decide if its a priority to each individual couple. Plenty of couples do not have $1000 to spare. Cutting something you would consider an extra, might be a priority to someone else.

I just think some brides rule it out so quickly because they lets say don't watch home videos or such that. Its totally different. We all choose to spend our money in differently. I just don't think everyone realizes the future and photo and video are your memories for the future, not a DJ or Florist, etc.

I agree with you but I also think its a personal decision for every couple..not everyone has the money for one or really wants one..We are getting one because we decided that we really wanted it BUT some people don't want it

Well..I feel like I opened a can of worms here. Thanks everyone for your opinion ...I appreciate it...but I do think that not everyone will regret not getting a professional video and my reason for asking this question was to see how many people chose other alternatives and what they were (for example I never thought of asking someone to tape things at the ceremony)....Thanks for everyones suggestions.

Kerry...whose your photographer at Patken?
