video or no video???

video or no video???

We can't decide. I'm very self conscious on camera, but we've heard from everyone how important it is to have as a keepsake for the years to come.

Our photographer is quoting a pretty high video price... please recommend any not-too-expensive but good videographers. Thanks!

Why not just get the raw footage then. Most of the cost of today's videography is for someone to do the editing and create a flowing story. My FH is in the business and can give you raw footage for about $600. FM me if you are interested.

I would say deffinatly get a video.
I hear brides all the time say how fast the day flew by. I would like to see the little things that I may have missed. I think it is kind of a legacy to keep.

I def. wanted the video because the day will be over so fast. There are a lot of people who say it isn't worth the money but I guess that is personal preference.

Do your homework on what the vendors offer and pick what suits your needs. IMO it was worth the investment

I was in the same kind of dilemma and then I decided to get one because a lot of brides told me that they had regrets afterwards when it's too late.
Your day goes by so fast and there are so many things we will miss. Also, you will have footage of people we hold dear to us in the years to come. We are still looking for a videographer because of high prices too. If UR interested chekc out Bellarino-they have a lower cost basic package. We are still thinking about them and have 2 appts this week.

no video

I don't like being in front of cameras. I start studdering. Don't need that on my big day!

At first, I thought it was tacky, but FH and I have decided that it will be nice to have the memories on video. But, now that everything will be changing to HD by next year, how important is it that the videographer shoot in HD? Most of the less expensive videographers (

Check out Bellarino Video

If you don't want to get an expensive package, you should at least get the raw footage.

A friend of mine got married recently and his best man gave the best speech EVER!!! BUT, my friend didn't hire a videographer, so they'll never be able to re-play the speech. I tried to record it with my digital camera, but after 3 minutes the memory card was full (so only the first half of the speech was captured...I guess it's better than nothing.)

Re: video or no video???

Thanks! We're looking for something reasonably priced... and inexpensive, b/c we splurged on the photo package (and other things!) so we don't want to go overboard. Our photographer quoted us approx. $2,000, which we felt was too high since we've been so on the fence.

So, basically we're looking for an unobtrusive videographer that isn't going to charge us an arm & a leg!

Is Bellarino easy to work with? I get so nervous to be on camera, especially when it comes to dancing and I don't want to feel completely in the spotlight.

I want to and the photographer has great prices. FH thinks it's a waste of money. I guess this is going to be yet another topic of argument!

ive seen girls on here post quotes from rambling rose and they seem to have great prices, they are on the vendors list on here and have a link to their site. I think their packages start at $999 and its a la carte so you can just pick a basic package and have them work with you.

also think about hiring a film student who will love this opportunity to use for their portfolio and will do it for a great price. You can even put an ad on craigslist in case you dont find a videographer in the price range you are looking for

for me personally it was VERY important. I want to hear us say our vows to eachother, i am sure the day of i will be so nervous and it will all feel so surreal and almost like WOW what just happened, to be able to watch us say our vows to eachother will be amazing, to watch our first dance and our parents dances, our bm and moh speeches and just seeing everyone having a good time and things we'll probably miss. It will be great to also show to our kids and be able to see themselves their parents wedding.

I definately say get the video... in my opinion, if you're close to your budget you should cut down elsewhere, this is very important and something you will be able to treasure over and over again as opposed to say an upgrade on your flowers that are only there one day.

I think it depends on whether or not you feel like you'd watch it again. We knew we wouldn't, so we didn't get one. We did ask one of our friends to tape it, just in case...he's an amateur filmmaker and had an HD camcorder.

Worse comes to worse, if you can't find one within your budget, ask one of your artsier friends to tape it for you.

btw, another guest filmed the wedding just because he wanted to and gave us an edited DVD of the day. It was really sweet of him and we watched the whole thing (about 20 min)....but about 5 minutes in, we were both bored. just a personal preference.

Defintely video! Anybody that didn't get it will say over and over again that they regret it. That's the ONLY way to relive the day moment by moment, again and again. Your children will want to see it one day too.
