Can someone please help me understand what the difference is in some video packages. I have gotten video package info that said that it included a 20-30 min. edited dvd, and then raw footage can be included (but not edited). Then I saw some packages say a 45 - hour long video that is edited. I don't understand how there is such a huge difference? Are the videos that are about an hour edited with music ? Or do they usually include a short highligh film that is edited with music? Thanks so much, I'm so confused with the video packages.

Re: Video question
I think the hightlights is usually separate from the amount they're claiming for your full edit.
Sometimes you'll just get a shorter edited video, but still have all the raw footage.
For example, in my video package, we're getting a highlights video, but we're also getting a double edit where you can choose to watch the 20 minute version or the 1 hour version, but it's costing us more ETA: You could have the same amount of raw footage and different lengths of edited video, Every 10 minutes of video takes HOURS to edit, so what you're paying for in the longer video is more editing time.

Re: Video question
Ok, I guess the reason I'm confused is because from the packages I've seen, the '20 min. highlight film' is basically all that you get, and those are the (two so far I've seen) ones are the most expensive. They wanted about 3,000 for a 20 min film, which seems crazy. Then today I saw a few that were an hour long video for 2200 but those don't seem to include a highlight clip set to a song. So it seems like most people get about an hour film and then a short highlight clip set to music, is that true? Is it worth it to get the highlight clip? Is the hour long video set to music also?

Re: Video question
Not sure what companies your looking into but for us we wanted 45 mins to an hour edited video with chapter markers. Pretty much your edited wedding video in the format of a timeline of your whole day with some parts to music and others with the actual audio. You also should get a 3-4 min highlight reel which would be to music or some audio if you want.
Also be careful with HD, for me I only wanted someone who used a DSLR camera and shot in HD and that had the ability to give us Blu-ray DVD's because that's where the technology is headed. If it's not in HD the quality won't be amazing. You also want to make sure any video vendor edits with Final Cut, it's the best editing system. You also can get the raw footage but you would probably have to provide an external hard drive. They record all the footage on to M4 cards now so after your wedding chances are in a couple of months the company will delete the footage to make room for other videos.
I work in TV so all these tiny little details were very important to me, sorry if I gave you more info or confused you even more. We're getting all this from Kiss the Bride Films! They have amazing work! FM me if you want more info!

Re: Video question
Maybe they're saying you're getting the highlight reel in addition to the final edited video?
I'm getting a long and short edit, and a highlight reel, 2 cameras, full day coverage, shot in HD, Blu-Ray and DVDs, All HD Raw Footage, etc etc. We're using Couped Up.

Re: Video question
Thank you all so much for all of this information!! The one II was considering wanted me to pay an additional 500 for the raw footage and it only included a 20 minute edited film. I thought something seemed crazy! Now hearing what all of yours include I have a better idea. Thanks so much for the help:)
