videographer help!

So we got our first quote from a videographer I researched online and loved. I almost fell off my chair after seeing the price!! :( maybe i just dont realize thats how much they cost?? Do you guys have any good recommendations? And what the avg cost for a full day of coverage is? Im starting to get stressed by seeing all these prices.

i know what you mean. I found it that when you book with someone who does Photo and Video the price is cheaper for both than getting them seperately. At the beginning I wanted to get one vendor for photography and one vendor for video. But when I added up how much I would be spending, it was wayy over my budget. My photographer offered us video and he showed us his work. FH and I were pleased and booked with him for Video as well and got a great deal for both. I personally always wanted something Cinematic like what Pennylane and JPI Films does, but it was just out of my price range.

Re: videographer help!

We're using two separate companies for photo and video so it's costing us more than if we did a photo/video combination.

Not sure what your budget is for video but my videographer is costing us around $5,500? Company is called Moving Pictures, LLC and his style is the same as Pennylane (very cinematic). I think his prices are more reasonable than Pennylane's too.

I know I talk about my video guy a lot, but I really can't emphasize enough about how great he has been to work with so far. I know he'll be a lot of fun to work with on the day of our wedding too.

If you need a photographer and videographer, then a photo company you like might be the first place to check.

I'm using North Island Photography for both.

Re: videographer help!

it really depends on what you want

if video is not that important and you don't want something cinematic, then you could prob find photo/video combined for 4-5k

if you want something cinematic(and aside from photo) then most video companies around the 4-5k mark

I looked into quite a few cinematic video companies, orange films, JPI, DMS, pennylane and motion pictures to name a few and they were all around that 4-5k mark depending on the package

I splurged on video and went the cinematic route, but that's bc I felt photo/video were most important bc you will have it forever

sorry for the essay! HTH!

We literally just signed the contract with Wild Rose yesterday. I researched like crazy and found that they have the highest quality for the price that we were paying. IMO they are just as great as Pennylane but without the 5,500 price tag. Make an appt with several vendors and then choose the one that you like the most!

I used Dave and Moving Pictures back in 2009, and they totally worth EVERY PENNY. We had a Wedding Day Edit the night of our affair and Dave showed our Engagement shoot for the first time (we shot it too close to the wedding date and wanted to surprise everyone) 280 guests were in tears after watching the presentation. The entire crew Dave, Joe, Geoff, Steve, and Jim were AWESOME!!! such cool guys to work with.

I can't wait to work with Dave! My FH and I immediately knew we wanted to use him as soon as we left his office. I also saw you used Ricky. He's my photographer as well. Love his work!

I know both Ricky and Dave are going to be a lot of fun to work with!
