Re: videography $$$
Take him with you to meet with Wild Rose. My FI felt the same way, but after we met with Marie and Bill he was very excited about the video, and now we both can't wait to have ours! For Wild Rose type quality, though, it costs a bit of money. Their basic package starts at $1499, but their work is worth every penny!

Re: videography $$$
$500 is probably too little to budget for videography unless you just want ceremony only coverage and no editing. Figure that a videographer spends about 8 hours taping plus many more doing the editing - that works out to be less than $25/hour without figuring out the cost of equipment, film, etc..
Becky is right - Wild Rose is great and their prices are very reasonable.

Re: videography $$$
The absolute cheapest that I saw was $699 from VIP. I think that was their no frills package. I saw one of their videos with the baby pics, etc., but IMO the quality was poor and their were too many cartoons. But, I happen to dislike animation. If you like that, you might want to check them out.

Try T&T Video in Smithtown. His prices are really reasonable and his work is excellent! The website is www.wedding-videos.com -- the owner's name is Hal.

Another vote for Wild Rose. They are great to deal with, super helpful and fairly priced.

Re: videography $$$
I have met or will meet with:
Bellarino Productions Platinum Wild Rose Candelite
Bellarino's packages started at $800 for just the raw footage and up to $1,400 for a comprehensive package. Platinum started at $1,895 and I believe Wild Rose and Candlelite wil be similar to Platinum's prices.

Re: videography $$$
You should check out Videomaker.$875 complete. Includes baby pics, music, full coverage with two parent copies, raw footage, and DVD. I just booked with them, and I am very happy with the quality! (631)254-8416. I also liked Bellarino.
I didn't think I wanted a video either, but then a friend told me that you will have people talking and moving on the video that you cannot get in pictures...
My grandfather died 2 weeks before my wedding and I don't have any video of him to show my children. My father had me at an older age and I would want my children to see his goofiness (not just him in posed pictures)
wild rose pulled me as well...I think VIP is improving their video...they were my photographers, but they had someone shooting video for them as well...for a promotional video?

I agree with yabbobay.. we were going to do the same till someone told us the same. We went with the wedding center in commack for video, pictues and limo. The video is $799. This was the most affordable for us. I havent heard too much about them so I will give a full review after October. Lets hope its a good one
