Videography

Videography

Ok, so my FH and I were not planning on having video, but everyone is telling us we are crazy not to. THe thing is, I just don't want a videographer who is intrusive with bright lights all over the place, I just want someone to tape the important highlights of the wedding...In addition, I would love just to get the raw footage so I could do the montage....I do not want to spend what I have been quoted ($1700-2600). Does anybody know of a relatively inexpensive videography who is reputable? Any suggestions would be great seeing as how I am cutting it so close!!!

Thanks

We used Pete from Wedding Cinema. He was very unobtrusive and he had reasonable packages. The video came out perfect.

I am using Classic Video Productions in Commack. He has packages that probably fit your price range. I picked one of the higher packages b/c video is very important to us and we are paying 2500 for that. So I know the smaller packages (or only raw footage) will be much lower. He is actually giving us the raw footage for free so he may have something where you just pay him for his services and you get the footage. I know he is awesome because my brother used him at his wedding and I didn't even know he was there & his video is amazing. They are also a vendor on here.

Well does your photographer provide video?? If they do then def get video through them and not from an outsider. That is what I was told many times is to get video within your photographer and not from a separate company. Video is def a key component to a wedding, you will have it forever

ETA: The many photographers I have visited said they do not use lighting when they are shooting video, they use natural light so if you meet with one make sure they tell you they dont use lighting, that is just very annoying to be in your face with that bright light

We didn't want video either, for the same reasons. I just called the videographer and told him, 'I don't want to know you're there. Just stand in the background and record the day, don't put anyone on the spot' He did an AMAZING job and worked with my budget. I used Pat from Golden Moments. He was PERFECT.

I didn't want video either and then I saw my friends' video and realized how much stuff I missed at their wedding...and how awesome the video was. I ended up booking their videographer for my wedding. The only time I remember seeing him at her wedding was when he walked up to her house and started working right away. The rest of the night he was never intrusive or annoying. I am using Pat from Golden Moments.
