Is this possible? I don't need them there all day, we'd just want them for the ceremony and most of the reception, about 5 hours.

the only way you are going to get an inexpensive price is if you video thru the photographer

Just call around to a bunch of different places and tell them that you just want someone to come and shoot the wedding....nothing fancy.
I got a few quotes between 700-1000. In the end, I have decided not to do it because it's just not in my budget.

I don't think ur gonna get it for under $1000.
check with ur photographer though. WIth Duet video was a extra $1000

if u book a photog or DJ some of them also have videography, and it will be cheaper to book together than alone.

If you dont have them do any editing and its just raw coverage it is im paing $1100 for 10 hrs but we are not have it edited

Try Skid Mark productions.....I think his name is Mark Posner.
My photographer Nick G. suggested him. I still haven't gotten in contact with him, but I think he may be around in that price range. Good Luck!!

TOTALLY possible. In fact, I JUST posted on the Vendors board looking for video and out of the responses I got almost ALL of them were under 1k AND most included light editing, chapter points, and music.
I went with Couped-Up productions but was also interested in Skid Mark and Fade to Black.
Couped-up is giving me 6 hours at 1 location w/ light editing and some music where needed plus raw footage and 3 copies of the dvd for $845, which is like $350 cheaper than his normal price- he called it like a recession discount or something.

If any of you guys know of any let me know too. All I want is for it to be videotaped and the camera not shaking. I'm not wasting $1000 or more on a tape to look like a movie that I'll watch tops 3 times...

A friend of mine is on a really tight budget...she called local colleges and high schools and eventually got a few people...she got the high school students for 2hrs for FREE and then I believe is paying $500 for 2 more college students looking to build their portfolios - Maybe try this idea, you might get lucky.

Also check out Silverfox, we booked with them. They're basic package starts at $1K for just footage.
