viennese hour

viennese hour

I am having my wedding on a Sunday, the day before Columbus Day. I booked a Viennese hour with my hall, from midnight to 1 a.m. but now I am having second thoughts; thinking that people might leave and it will be a waste of money. What do you girls think about this?

Re: viennese hour

I'm not sure how things are in LI, but here in San Diego, most people don't get Columbus day off. Chances are, after all the food at the CH, during dinner, and with the cake, your guests might not be hungry enough to enjoy it. If you're looking for a place to cut back, this might be a good one, IMO. :o)

I agree with smilealways. Our hall provides the cake, cookie trays and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert, so we decided against the viennese hour. How much can people really eat? JMO

Re: viennese hour

We are doing a vienese hour. However, we are a Saturday night and we are not adding a hour to our party we are having the viennese hour within the 5 hours.

I dont get Columbus day off, therefore honestly there is a good chance I would leave before 1am because I would have to be up for work at 6. (unless I was really close to the person and took the day off for the event)

The vienesse is also in hour 5 hour period. Maybe see if you can do it that way....If not, I would do it anyway...I love the vienesse hour, I think it looks nice

I agree with most of the girls. The only people I know that have
Columbus day of is school kids and teachers. I'm not having the Vienesse
hour because with all the food, cake and they are giving us a choice
of desserts after the cake that I don't think people will be hungry enough
to eat all that too. besides you could really be saving yourself a ton of
money.

I say it is a bit late. I don't know if I would personally stay that late. I also don't have Columbus Day off. Defintely spend the money getting a massage on your honeymoon or include it in the five hours

Re: viennese hour

I am getting married on a Sunday night and was advised not to have a Viennese hour. We are doing dessert trays.

I like the Viennese too, but I think it will be too late and people will be too full.
