I am sure this has been talked about before but who is having a Viennesse (sp?) table? I am not sure if we should do it or not. Our catering hall is throwing it it but do we need the extra food or take away from dancing? Although I always love the Viennesse table at parties!!

Re: Viennesse Table anyone??
We just had a mini vienese - platters of cookies and pastries were put on the tables during dessert. We figured that, with the dessert the catering hall served plus wedding cake was enough after all the other food served.

My hall does not include it. We would have to pay extra for it. That is why I a not doing it. Personally, I think by the end of the night when that would go on. Everyone is too drunk to eat cookies and icecream and chocolate. ha ha ha But it really is a personal preference. If people are uninterested they will dance anyways.

We are not having one. I toyed with the idea, but I cannot afford the extra expense.
We have wedding cake, a dessert course and a platter of cookies and pastries which will be put on each table. I think that is more than enough.

Re: Viennesse Table anyone??
We are having a Viennese hour. They add an additional hour to our time and have a full display of every type of dessert you can think of. They even have boxes for people to take dessert home. Yum. We are both big dessert people. So we didn't put too much emphasis on the cake.

no viennesse here. It doesn't come with it and didn't think it was necessary. They'll have cake and ice cream and something else which i forgot. There will be so much at the cocktail hour, i figured who would have room!

Re: Viennesse Table anyone??
I had one. Mine was in the another room and I made sure the DJ continued to play good music not to interrupt the party...just make a quick announcement and that's it because I had the same concerns as you did. Well....everyone and I mean everyone went to the vienesse room and I was like what's going on...but my hall kind of ushered them back after about 1/2 hour and everything was fine. Most people visited, had their fill and came back to party anyway. But you know what, I have gotten so many compliments saying they never saw a vienesse like that (supposedly it was great..I didn't get anything) and how much they loved it was in another room, etc. So I guess it was a success!

We are having one. I always love the presentation of all the great desserts. If it is a nice day, they are just opening the french doors behind us and having it right outside. The band will still keep playing and with the viennesse tables the party is extended 1/2 hour. If you can afford it I think it is a great way to end the night.

I personally am not a fan of having one....and my hall does charge extra...but my father and FFIL say they always wait the entire affair for the vieneesse table...so I guess we are having one

Some people are really into it...i think its a little too much IMO. We are only having the mini vianesse trays on the table along with cake and chocolate covered fruits.

Re: Viennesse Table anyone??
We are having a full viennese tabel. My dad loves it, so I got it. For a few dollars more, I got a full viennesse table a 1/2 dozen roses on each table. So for me it was worth it.

Full Viennesse table along with a candy bar (as seen in the Martha Stewart mag.) The candy bar will be setup throught the whole reception.

Re: Viennesse Table anyone??
I WISH my hall would throw in an entire vienesse table. We are also doing the mini vienesse, pastries, cookies, etc. on trays at each table. We also have a coffee and cordial cart or something like that too! Plus the cake of course!

Re: Viennesse Table anyone??
We had one only because, we wanted an extra hour and if you had viennesse, you would automatically get it. (it came out cheaper than just paying for an extra hour). Also, they had the viennesse set up in our cocktail room, so it did not interfere with the dancing.
Honestly, if it weren't for my reasons above, I would not have had one.

We are having a mini-vienesse & cordial bar. Our hall was willing to throw that in & anything that is free is worth it, right? LOL.
