Re: Villa Lombardi's brides
I know they used to use rolling pin bakery at Lombardis on the sound , imo is the BEST bakery around. Now they switched to La Bon Bolagierie(sp) that is imo one of the most expensive bakeries around. I havent done the cake thing yet, but I'm not thrilled about it. I think you VL brides still get Rolling Pin, right? Whatever pics you've seen...have faith. I have grown up in port jeff, and as long as I can remember, Rolling Pin is the place to go for cakes! They did the cake for my cousins wedding in october this year and it was wonderful. If I can find a pic, I'll post it.

What did they tell you the timeline is for when to go and pick your cake, menu, etc? My wedding is in September, and they told me I dont need to do anything until the end of July? I think I would rather get it all done earlier, rather than later...

Re: Villa Lombardi's brides
they made my appointment for next month May 8 (exactly 3 months before).. i think they made it 'earlier' cos I was at VL trying to figure out if i wanted color kinetics for our room or not (from an outside vendor).. since i was there they asked me when i wanted to make an appointment.. of course i wanted to ASAP. .next month

hi girls - sorry for posting here but my sister just got engaged and i told her to look here but we have heard it can be quite pricey...
do any of you mind either posting of fming me what you are paying pp?
also what day and what time?
thanks!!!!!!!!!
Definitely depends on how many people you guarantee and day/time, and what you want included in the package.
Ours is a Sat afternoon, guarantee of 400 people, and it's like $79.99++....they wanted us to guarantee 700 for a sat evening wedding though, which I thought was a bit ridiculous.

IM here how's everyone's experience so far?
It's been alright......I feel like they're very strict on their packages....if you want to change anything, there's an additional cost. And definitely important to have EVERYTHING written in your contract...even if they say you don't have to....make sure they do.
We recently found out that there's an additional charge for the baker to create a cake that's not in their book (their book has all of 5 cakes in it)...even if it is very similar to one they have....and when we first signed, the bm told us it shouldn't be a problem.
We also recently found out that a few alcohol brands we thought would be considered top shelf, actually isn't for them.
But, FH has been to a few weddings there and says it's always great....the food's amazing, so I'm not worried at all.
You are having 700 people and they still aren't working with you? The day I booked it must have been your wedding they were telling me about. Not personal details, but how they had a wedding coming up for 700 people and how they opened the rooms and stuff like that.
Yea, they're not willing to budge on the food things really, possibly because they're known for how good the food is. And every little change costs more $. FH & I went to brunch at lots and had this dessert we absolutely loved....we asked if we could substitute that for something and they wouldn't let us......actually cynthia said no, i think im going to try asking nicole though.

I am a Lombardi's on the Sound Bride.....mind if I join you ladies here?! Just curious...what liquor don't they consider top shelf??
I don't remember off the top of my head, but after we found out, FH asked them to fax him a liquor list...and they did.

We just did our menu and stuff a couple of weeks ago. I sent them a pic of a cake I really like and asked them to find out if it would cost extra and if so, how much (I think it's up to the baker). But they have choices of cake/fillings.....that was a pretty simple process, mainly because you don't get to try it so you kind of have to go with what you think will taste good.
