Village Club of Lake Success

Does anyone have any recent info on the above? My friend got married there in the summer of 2011 and it was a great wedding however I think they may have changed caterers and I also heard they are renovating the place. Any info would be appreciated!

I did visit there and it was really nice, however I was looking for more of a mansion site rather than country club. If I was going for that type of feel I probably would have chosen it. The caterer is amazing and he is willing to do many creative things as far as the menu. He really makes you feel like he knows what he's doing and is so detail oriented you get the feeling your day will go off without a hitch. They are renovating it to have a city/lounge type feel. They'll show you all the plans and it should be done in January so they may have some of it done right now. I'd suggest at least going to check it out, it won't be a waste of a trip. Good luck!

I was in touch with the banquet manager there a few times when we were hunting for our venue back in January. I know at the time it was up in the air if they were going to be renewing their contract with Phillip Stone Caterers. I believe they were going to be making a decision by February or March so I am sure they know by now. The one thing I will say is the banquet manager totally flaked on our scheduled appointment and did not show up. We waited 30 minutes out in the cold January weather outside the facility for her because she was not there and not answering her cell. We live out of state and were only in NY for 2 days to check out venues so we decided that it was not worth rescheduling with her if she could not remember to keep the appointment the first time. That being said, my parents have been to weddings there and really enjoyed it and if they are still a Phillip Stone company that is great. I thought the decor looked a bit dated (from what I could see peeking in the windows) so it's good to hear that they are renovating it seems like it was much needed.

Thanks so much for the info. Sorry to hear about the missed appointment, I hope that they have gotten their act together since then!

The pricing I was quoted was good, there are not too many options for a Saturday in September. The Royalton is my number one pick right now, but the price difference is substantial.
