Is it something I should do? We are obviously gonna have the wedding cake. Plus the watermill provides another dessert. And we are having a chocolate fountain. I'm a dessert person to the core but I don't know if it's a huge waste of money with all the dessert there will be already. Any advice?

Re: Vinesse hour?
I am having one because it is included, otherwise I probably wouldn't bother. It looks nice but in reality after alllll that cocktail hour food plus dinner plus wedding cake and desert AND a chocolate foutian I'd doubt if anyone would have any room left!

I ALWAYS leave room for desert LOL. I'm doing a VH, because personally, I could not do without it! Totally up to you!

We have a big dessert table that was included in our price, but we'd totally do it anyway! I also always leave room for dessert! Nom nom nommmmm

We aren't planning on having a Viennese hour. We think it will be too much food...It would be nice to have, but I don't think you need it.

IMO the Viennese hour is a waste. The majority of it is going to be thrown out. Our RH threw in a mini Viennese which is platters with cookies cannolis pastries and things like that on each table. Good for munchies and to pick on. I just couldnt see spending the money for the whole hour and have most of it be thrown away...

I think it's an excessive amount of food. Plus it stops the dancingfor a longer period of time. I'm having cake and mini dessert plates.

Our RH threw in a mini VH, which is little pastries and whatnot being passed around on trays by servers. I'm a huge sweets person so I was sooooo

Thats really a personal preference. I have a big italian family and its like something we just do.. but honestly it's a lot with all the food and cake. So if it's not a big deal to you then it might be a waste. It's very nice but it's all up to you.

Same with us, we're having a VH because its just tradition. Plus, dessert is my favorite part of any meal.
I plan on speaking to my banquet manager to see if they'll let me put out take-home boxes with the VH, so if guests are too full they can take some goodies with them, and hopefully it won't all go to waste.

I do not think that it is necessary but it is a nice extra. Our RH has it included so we are having one. Dessert is my favorite part so I really wanted it but if it had not been included we probably would not have been able to afford the extra money.
I'm not worried about it interrupting the dancing because it will be along the outside perimeter of the room so those who want to eat can eat and those who want to burn of dinner dancing can dance away! Plus it adds a whole hour to my party so it makes me wedding that much longer so I am thrilled with having one.

We are not doing one cause we are trying to cut down on costs where we can. We are having a cake plus pastries and petit fours on each table and we are making a candy bar. I have seen it done though it is a nice special touch if you can afford it.

you get a extra hour you wouldn't originally have so it doesn't affect dancing.. actually gives you more time..

We are having one, it's tradition in my Italian family too. I know it's alot of food but at the end of a wedding I'm always looking for the VH hour and variety

Thanks ladies. I spoke to the fh and he says it would be too much money. I agree. Plus I'm trying to get him to commit to a videographer I want that's out of our price range so the less I ask for the better

It's a nice extra but like you I'm having cake, ice cream sundeas and a choc fountain I feel like that's enough dessert.
