We got married there!!! Of course, we loved it! We did get a lot of compliments on the food so I guess others liked it too.

YES it is BEAUTIFUL there. We really wanted to have our wedding out there but my dad didn't want our guests to do that drive

I am sooo jealous of you guys

Re: Vineyard Caterers

I have to admit that was a huge stressful factor for me (knowing the guests had to drive so far) and I know more people would have come if it was easier to get to, but as my DH kept saying, 'We've driven all over the country for your friends weddings and you never thought twice about the drive....if they love you, they'll drive to the ends of the earth to see you get married.' And it's so true. The people we really loved and cared about us were there. And if we had a destination wedding in Taiwan or wherever else, the same people probably would have showed up. One of my best friends is getting married in MA this fall....never once did I even consider not going bc of the distance. DH and I had one of our first dates at the vineyards, he proposed to me at Pugliese Vineyards, so we wanted to continue the meaningul tradition with the wedding. We don't regret it.

I know what you mean, but I'm not too worried. A lot of my guests (my family and friends) will be coming from San Diego and Florida, so it wasn't like it was going to kill them to go a little farther. FI's family is good about coming from the tri-state area, they wouldn't miss it! And, most of our close college friends in CT will be there b/c they're in the bridal party. We should be ok!

Matron - it's always so nice to hear from other Vineyard brides. :o)

I too am ant oct. groom. We looked into the Vineyard. The facility is real nice and the view from the cocktail hour room in the back was breathtaking. Evry wall was a clear zip up that they raise when the weather is appropriate so there are no 'walls'. The view is all lush greenery with a Gazebo to get married under surrounded by flowers in bloom and milkes upon miles of grape vines in the background. Like I said...NICE.

smilealways --- the CT guests will be the happiest because they can just take the ferry. All of my CT guests did this and commented on its convenience.

OctBride -- You've got to make your dad happy! I'm sure your wedding will be perfectly beautiful too!

And BTW, I LOVE that adorable picture of your dog.
