Has anyone ever been to a wedding or looked into having a wedding at the Vineyard Caterers in Aquebogue? How is the food? Service?
I went to go look at it yesterday with my fiance and I liked it but I have some reservations. I was able to get a good deal for April `03 but, it`s just so inconvenient for out of town guests to drive all the way out there (my fiance`s family is from Rockland County)! Plus, they only have one hotel nearby, in Riverhead. The other thing is the decor. It`s pretty but, it`s very geared towards the whole Vineyard thing and I don`t know if that`s what I am looking for.
I think the real problem is that after I looked at Flowerfield last weekend, I can`t get it out of my mind! I was able to get a pretty good deal for April `03 there as well but, I think I could do better price wise considering it is only 11 months away and they haven`t booked the date yet.
Any bargaining tips for getting a good deal on a date not yet booked 11 months away?
Needless to say, I have a problem. Vineyard is cheaper BUT, does that mean better? I am so undecided! Any help or input would be greatly appreciated!!!
THANKS!

Vineyard Caterers or Flowerfield...long
I've been to a wedding at Vineyard and it was very lovely. Good food, etc. I also looked at Flowerfield for my wedding but it was too expensive, although I did fall in love with it.
I thought the wedding at Vineyard was very elegant -- but you are right about the distance. Most of the folks who stayed over stayed at the Ramada (I think) nearby, which is probably the hotel you are talking about.

I never attended a wedding at Vineyard but I went to see it. I also went to see Flowerfield and fell in love with it - In the end, though we decided that it was just too expensive. I didn't like the menu selection at Vineyard - I thought it was too limited. At Flowerfield you get a TON of food so I, personally, think it is worth it if you have the money to spend. Vineyard did not give you nearly as much for your money, yet they seemed expensive. They are both really nice though. Good luck!

I was at Flowerfields for my friends wedding in November and... WOW! We looked into it THAT night. It was more than we could afford but what a wedding! If it is out of your price range, there are plenty of great places for less money.

I've never attended at the Vineyard, so I can't comment about it, however, I had my reception at Flowerfield and I can't say enough about my experience. Everything was picture perfect , and a dream to organize. If I could do it over I wouldn't change a single thing!

THANKS!
Thanks to everyone who posted a message regarding my dilema about Vineyard Caterers and Flowerfield. My fiance and I decided today that we are going to book Flowerfield! It`s really a no brainer...we`ve loved Flowerfield from day one and in our eyes, no place could compare. I think that we were just tempted by the fact that Vineyard was cheaper. It all boils down to the fact that you only get married once and I don`t want to skimp on the most important day of my life. The fact that no one ever says anything negative about Flowerfield on this site doesn`t hurt either! :) Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!

Reading your post was like reliving booking my wedding all over again, except that our main contender to Flowerfield was The Hamlet in Commack! We were 100% sold on Flowerfield, but we kept trying to convince ourselves that The Hamlet was better for us because it was cheaper. We finally realized that we wouldn't be satisfied there simply for the fact that it wasn't Flowerfield, and that made our decision for us!
Good luck to you! : )
