Has anybody been to or booked a wedding for any of the vineyards?Any recommendations?
What about Oheka Castle? Coindre Hall? Or The Bourne Mansion???

Re: Vineyard wedding?
I visited Raphael vinyard on the north fork. I think it is one of the coolest places i have ever seen. I would have loved to have my wedding there.

Re: Vineyard wedding?
I LOVED the Bourne Mansion, we live very close to it. They were just taken over by Lessings, but the building is owned by St Johns Univ. which is Catholic, so they will not let you get married there. They are also charging a $3500 site fee, I think the p/p prices starts @$100. Like all real mansions it has some areas that are not perfect, the outside is in need of some repair. It's still beautiful. Oheka is always a great choice. Good Luck

Re: Vineyard wedding?
We looked at Oheka and you'd be surprised hpw they are willing to negotiate...We didn't book them, but worked out a great deal for mothers day...they will cut the prices on these type days...we didn't book them, b/c although fantastic and beautiful, it would have been a little tight they say 150 is min, but the room looks like it can barely hold more...and it was a little cold with the stone.
I tried to look at Coindre Hall, but played a big game of phone tag (they never answered the phone??) and they also DO NOT have air conditioning...so we weren't upset that we did not get a chance to look there...

Re: Vineyard wedding?
HI..we looked at all the vineyards..hope this info is helpful...How they work is you rent the vineyard usually starting at 7 when theyclose and there is a flat fee (ranging from 3,000-10,000) then they
have lists of caterers etc that you can go to and they can help you find
tables
and chairs and all that good stuff. I think it is extra work to do it
because you bring everything in but it would also be a good way to
personalize stuff if you want...you have a hand in everything. Some of the vineyards suggest having a coordinator as well.
Most of the vineyards are on the north fork but the Wolffer estate and I think duckpond is on the south fork. Wollfer was by far our
favorite...it was beatiful they also closed
the vineyard for you so you could have it earlier than 7...they were
expensive I think around 10,000 site fee
but beautiful and also you don't need a tent there....on the north fork
we
liked Pellegrini..they had a big open square and a tent was made
specifically for the top of it (i think $3,000 for the tent) can't
remember site fee there..Laurel lake had a deck and were more affordable and jamesport was really lax..you could do whatever you want there...also Raphael has there own catering now so it is in house..I think a
$5,000-$10,000 fee based on season and day for the space and then @80 something a head...
Here are some links that were helpful...

http://www.northfork.org/wineries.html
http://www.longislandwinecountry.com/frameset3.html
Hope this is helpful..i think it can be really beautiful you just have to be willing to do a little extra work...in the end for us it was too much money and too much planning..best of luck!!

Re: Vineyard wedding?
I'm getting married at Wollfer. The site fee is expensive, but it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen to hold a wedding. On the north fork, I liked Laurel Lake and Gristina.
I didn't look at Rapheal b/c I was looking before they started doing weddings.
Okeha is nice, I believe they also charge a site fee

Re: Vineyard wedding?
i have never been to oheka but my friend's mother attended a wedding there and she told me the music didn't sound so good b/c it wasn't really built to have accoustics...they couldn't hear each other talk and had to go outside to talk..........Welcome New Vendors
