Does anyone know approximate pricing for a wedding at any of the wineries in Long Island? Site fees?
We are going to have about 200 - 250 and I think most of the wineries hold wedding that are smaller and not so big. I don't like the idea of a tent wedding because of weather.
I'd like some reviews if anyone has them.
Thanks!!

Re: Vineyard Wedding
I originally wanted a wedding out at one if the vineyards but when i did some research i found out that alot of them do not have enough room. we were looking at 200+ and from what i understand we would have had to do a tent wedding which I also did not want ( i thought it was too much work to rent EVERYTHING and start from scratch) We looked at raphels and the place is beautiful but once again they werent big enough for 200 people and they dont allow tents on their property either. sorry to have all this bad news but I tried also, the idea is georgous but i think the only way possible is to have a tent wedding...if thats what you want then go for it, Im sure it will be incredible

Re: Vineyard Wedding
Do a search on the Vineyard Caterers. Reception hall on the north fork that is on a vineyard. No rentals, no tents. Also, Flowerfields has a vineyard type feel I hear. Orchards and vineyards etc.

Re: Vineyard Wedding
Been here done this. My husband and I are wine snobs (sorta) Originally we wanted this theme.. after much research - which I did PLENTY - I found that all of the vineyards would NOT accommodate a number of 150-200. Way to many guests! They also have tons of rules and regulations that just annoyed me to death. You could only drink their wine and not order from any other - and if they did allow you had to still buy a min amount of cases of their wine regardless. They also will only serve WINE or champange nothing else! ( I don't even like LI wine) Also because it is outdoors there are Regulations with music and time.
There was only really two places that would have worked but they were booked w/an event two days after our wedding. Apparently they only do 1 event per wknd due to the tent set up and set up and clean ups. Try: http://www.gallucciowineries.com/main.ihtml?page=weddings Or http://www.pellegrinivineyards.com/
Or you can check out our venue - I will give you info - it was a compromise and I got my outdoor tent wedding with a winery feel w/NO restrictions! FM me for details.

Re: Vineyard Wedding
you might try bedell cellars. they have an actual building for weddings (no tent necessary). i believe the site fee on saturdays is something like $15,000. when i was looking into vineyard weddings, i found a few with site fees between $5,000-$10,000, but you had to rent a tent for all of them.

Re: Vineyard Wedding
I almost had a vineyard wedding, too! I looked at about 6 vineyards and absolutely fell in love with Raphael! That was one of the few vineyards that provided everything. Nothing compares - its amazing! The site fee varies by the time of year, though. FM for their exact pricing. Also, if you are planning to have more than 150-175 guests, it may be tight.
Pellegrini is beautiful too but you have to bring in EVERYTHING - food, drinks, tables, chairs, linens... etc. If you are willing to coordinate all those vendors, I say go for it!!

This was because of laws. i believe the laws have since changed.
LI WINES How can you not like LI wine? YOu havent had the right ones... Martha Clara, Paumanok and Raphael all have a fabulous merlot.
OTHER LOCATIONS Martha Clara has a big barn they do weddings in. Nice place. My work hosted about 230 last summer and it was very tight. That was with 2 bars, buffet dinner and a dance floor. Might be different if you do sit down dinner instead.
Borghese Vineyard has a nice room too. About half the size of Martha Clara though.
I looked into Martha Clara since they are catered by Lessings and I know they have a good reputation. They quoted me the following prices:
summer Sat afternoon $125 pp+ tax/grat +site fee (no VH included and just the basics for catering, nothing fancy)
Site Fee for Tasting Room/Pavilion (Up to 140 People) $8,500 Saturdays in season, $6,500 Fridays & Sundays in season $6,500 Saturdays off season, $4,500 Fridays & Sundays off season $3,000 Mondays-Thursday year round

Re: Vineyard Wedding
Thanks ladies. I am from NJ, he's from LI so he wants the wedding in LI, I want it in NJ but I said I'd entertain the idea of the wineries. So we will go check it out.
But from what I read I don't think it's going to work for us. Thanks for mentioning which ones to go see, we've been plenty of times, but I've been too tipsy to remember how big they are and which ones we should check out!!

Re: Vineyard Wedding
I second the Vineyard Caterers.
They don't have a site fee and even though they have their own working 50 acre vineyard you are not forced into using a specific number of their cases. I don't think you have to use any if you don't want to. Also it is a full service catering hall so you will not have to rent anything. My FH and I feel it is a great combination of a hall that still has the 'out east' vineyard feel. Good luck searching!

How can I NOT like LI wines? - Because I said I was pretty much a wine snob. I have had the Merlot - there is 1 I like - & that is my Prerogative is all.~
Wolfer is too small for the guests your looking to have - Although a very lovely vineyard.
Good luck in your findings.

Re: Vineyard Wedding
Vineyard Caterers isnt a vineyard by the way... they just have a backyard view that backs up to Paumanok...which is fine...as long as you know that going into it.

Re: Vineyard Wedding
Actually Vineyard Caterers IS a working vineyard....they just starting producing wine this year I believe. The only way you can purchase their wine is if you use it as a favor for your wedding
