Vineyards - Northfork - Question from those that have never been...

A group of us want to go this weekend. We've never gone. We sort of envision going from one winery to the next. I've heard good things on this site about Raphael Vineyards which has a 2pm tour. Any other vineyards nearby that we can stop at? Any other series of vineyards you suggest? Thanks in advance!

Pindar is pretty much right across the street from raphael.
When you drive down 25 there are sooo many vinyards to choose from. You can drive all the way down to Raphael and then work your way back going west, or start by riverhead and work your way east and end up at raphael.
We went to Peconic bay vinyards, pindar, and pelligrino this past weekend. I wanted to go to raphael, but they were closed for a private event (probably a wedding )

you could drive down Sound Avenue (Route 48) in Riverhead to Southold/Greenport then drive up to 25 and hit the wineries on that road on your way back.

I think they all have great tastings (EXCEPT the Premium Wine Group Leib Cellars in Mattituck on 48) - Wine was UGH last year!

Pugliese is nice too - they have a cute shop where you can buy all 'winey' stuff. Have fun - it's a great time....you may have a headached the next day though

FROM A NORTHFORK FREAK (MYSELF)

I REALLY THINK GALLUCIO IS GOOD FOR TASTINGS WITH A GROUP- THEY HAVE 2 VINEYARDS IN ONE-
ONE IS THEIR NORTH FORK VINEYARD AND THE OTHER BUILDING IS THE UPSTATE NYK VINEYARDS. BOTH NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER. I LIKE THEIR LAWN AND THEIR SEATING AREA.

I ALSO LIKE THE NEW VINEYARD- VINEAYRD 48- LARGE TASTING ROOM AND DECENT WINES. ALSO A PRETTY COURTYARD TO SIT.

COREY CREEK AND BEDELL ARE SISTER VINEYARDS. IF YOU TASTE AT ONE FOR $5 YOU TASTE AT THE OTHER FOR FREE.
THEY HAVE A GORGEOUS DECK WITH ONE OF THE BEST VIEWS.

LAST IS PAUMANOK- I LOVE THEIR REISLING- THEY ALSO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL PATIO TO SIT ON. THEIR WINES AR NOT CHEAP BUT THEY ARE VERY GOOD.

I HAVE NOT TASTED AT RAPHAEL B/C THEIR TASTING ARE EXPENSIVE AND THE ABOVE VINEYARDS LET YOU BUY A BOTTLE, SIT OUTSIDE, ETC.

Pugliese also has a great reisling and a nice place to sit with a bottle and some food. Osprey's Dominion has a great area to hang out and usually has outdoor live music as well.

You really can't go wrong with any of the vineyards. I would get a map of the area vineyards and just plan a route for the day. You are going to have so much fun! I love it out there!

Harbor Front Inn in Greenport is really nice. We always stay there when we go.

You just try a small sample of the different varietals of wine that the vineyard makes. A lot of the vineyards have picnic areas with live music where you can have lunch and a bottle of wine. It just is a relaxing time. DH and I went for our 1 yr. Anniversary and had a great time. I was not impressed by the wine, but it was still fun.

Martha Clara!!! My FAVORITE! The wine is to die for! It's also a lot less crowded than some of the other, bigger vineyards.

Pellegrini..

Also there is a farm stand on Sound Ave. I think it's called Briermeyers Farms, the make the best peach pies I've ever had. They also have other pies too, but I make it out there a few times a summer just for the pies..

To H E L L with the diet!!!
