Has anyone had their reception or been to a reception at VIP Country Club?
We had to cancel our reception @ Thatched Cottage so we are still looking for a reception hall.
any comments would be helpful!

Re: VIP in new Rochelle
I went to a cousin's wedding there a couple of years ago. I thought the setting was a bit cheesy (the whole plaster, fake glitz and glamor thing that you see so much of around here), but overall it's nice...your basic upscale catering hall. I have no idea what kind of package they got, but the food was very abundant and decent in quality.
Keep in mind that I am definitely pickier than most. All things considered, it could be a good choice for your wedding, and from some prices I've seen mentioned for this venue, I think you get more of your money's worth there than some other locales. Also, I've never seen anyone complain about it.

I've been to a wedding here a couple of years ago and thought it was very nice. The food and service was very good from what I could remember.
The only thing was that I wasn't crazy about the shape of the room but I liked everything else.

I totally agree with this post. Definitely had the fake glitz look going on. Also, if you wanted to do your ceremony there, they have a nice outdoor area with a tent, but even on a nice day, the metal poles are still up. And technically, if you're having your reception in the room adjacent, you could see someone else's ceremony going on. The menu did look very good though. If you're looking in that area anyway, you should check out Glen Island Harbour Club.

I went to a reception there... it was nice, but not memorable. The cocktail hour did have TONS of food.... I remember an outdoor garden area but we were there in the winter so we didn't use it.

Maybe I'm just bias because we got married there but I don't agree with some of the comments here, I know everyone is entitled to there own opinion though. I didn't think it had that cheesy glitzy feel to it at all, I think it was tastefully done. We had a great experience there. Go for it if you like it.
