Personally i didn't like Norton. It seems to suck up all the available computer resources.
(ie: it's a memory hog and my other programs would sometimes choke).

I use McAfee Virus/Firewall. I am happy with it's performance overall. I especially like that the firewall tells me when programs are trying to call OUT to the internet as well what's what's trying to call in.

This is just MY opinion .... YMMV!!

Good Luck!

Norton's ratings have been going down in comparison to other programs. McAffee hasn't been doing much better. I've switched away from those programs the past few years (as per DH's recommendation...he's a programmer). I was using EZ Trust and liked it much better than many of the other programs.

However, DH just switched me and the rest of our families over to Avast! and we like it so much better. It is freeware too. Before installing itself it checks for viruses and removes them so it is a clean install. I thought my computer was clean from years of Norton, McAffee, and EZTrust but it found one small virus and got rid of it. It did the same on my m;other's computer. Also, I have found that it allows the Internet to run so much faster.

If you want to do some research on anti-virus software you could check out cnet.com or other computer sites for comparisons and rankings. Also, PC Magazine puts out a rating each year.

I like Norton System Works. That's what I have in my computer, and I've never had a problem yet.
