So MOH and I went to RK Bridal today. When we first get there, we are very overwhlemed with how things work. We ask for some help and they explain the idea of RK bridals.. Then we started to look and we pick like 5 or 6 dresses. There was a long wait. We waited about 2 hours to get a room. When we finally got a room, the lady helping me wasn't really helpful. I asked her for shoes that fit me because they had shoes that were too small in there. I tried on about 3 of the 6 dresses (3 of them were to small for my hips LOL). I must have ask the lady 4 times, do you have any suggestions, I am open to ideas and she was just plain lazy, I got some ideas on what look good on me but I really didn't care for her service. She had me out of there in 30 minutes. I said ' I waited 2 hours, I want to try on the most dresses I can' and she blow that comment off.
I am not pissed but more annoyed

Ugh! Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I didn't like RK for that exact reason....the girl I had was not helpful at all.

Re: Visit to RK Bridal
awww I'm sorry about that. When I went, i thought it was really overwhelming but the consultant I had was actually very good. I think her name was olga and she was a little older lady.
I managed to pick out a few dresses myself to try on and when I described to her what i liked about each dress, she went and pulled bunch and I really liked all her picks. She pulled a san patrick dress for me that was amazing, but I didn't say yes and she didn't push me. I came back to try it on again and ultimately got another dress but the experience wasn't bad for me.
THe person you get makes or breaks everything, I guess!
THeir prices are the best so if you find another dress elsewhere, go online to the RK bridal site and see if they carry it. It wil probably be cheaper

The key to RK is getting there early so you don't have to wait. When I went, I was the first person on the sign up list and I had a great experience, my consultant was amazing. I found my dress that day and came back 2 weeks later to order it.

Re: Visit to RK Bridal
mybabylovesmoi, I think you are talking about Gilda lol And yes she was awesome! She has to be like 85 years old but she was a real firecracker and several times ran out to get something she wanted me to try on....
I got my dress at RK, but I will agree that its a different experience....Try not to go on the weekend if you can avoid it, BUT I feel that RK is really more for brides who know what they want...I went with a particular dress in mind that I really wanted to try on, pulled that one and maybe another 2 from the racks, and then my BM and my mom pulled maybe another 4. They do have a huge selection and they don't really limit the number of dresses you can pull....so pull a whole bunch and try them all.
If you wanna go back there, I'd ask for Gilda. HTH!

Yea RK is like that. You only get a few dresses. You can't try on a lot. They do have pretty decent pricing though.
I suggest you find a few dresses you love elsewhere and then you can always go back there if they have a better price. But i'm all for the smaller shops. I'd rather go to 10 smaller shops then go to RK. It's a mess there!
I got my dress at Kleinfelds. You should definitely try Kleinfelds. It is a totally different experience! They treat you like an absolute princess and no one else in the whole place matters but you.

I would be pissed, what dont people get, if your store gets busy that doesnt mean blow people off, it means hire more people to accommodate your guests. I dont get it.

Re: Visit to RK Bridal
sorry to hear you had a terrible experience but you'll probably feel like that regardless of where you go... at least that's how it was for me when I also went to Kleinfeld's and Bridal Reflections as well...BUT you will get more upscale service with the latter. For me, I was completely opposed to going to RK but I work in the neighborhood and it was super quiet during the week. I ended up purchasing from RK not because of the price but because I loved my dress. So far the service and alteration department haven't given me any problems... good luck on your search.

Re: Visit to RK Bridal
That sucks!!! RK bridal is a very 'self sufficient' type of place. The rules are 1) only go on the weekdays. I used to work near by and I went about 5 times, always on a weekday and it was completely empty. I was helped immediately and my appt lasted an hour 2) go if you already know what style and dress you want. The best thing about RK bridal is that the prices are amazing. the worst thing about RK bridal is that its like a dress factory. They dont pamper you, they just rush you in and rush you out.
what i would do is keep looking around at different salons, find a dress you want, see if they sell it at RK for a cheaper price and get it there. Good luck :)

Re: Visit to RK Bridal
The key is to go during the week , the weekends are chaos.. I got my dress from there but I found it on long island and then was just shopping around for a better price. I would shop for dresses and if you find it in one store call RK, I gaurantee they have it and will give you the best price. It is definitely overwhelming but I haven't had any problems so far. My dress comes in around the end of February so i'll keep you girls posted on the rest of my experience.
