Viva Las Vegas!
I was hopeful about going on a cruise. FH wanted Vegas. We couldn't agree on a honeymoon destination (not that either of us really hated the other's idea). We were like two undecided kids in a candy shop. Finally, out of frustration, he told me to 'just book something' and he added, 'Don't even tell me what it is...' Being the kind of person who finds it difficult to turn down a challenge - especially one like this - I did exactly that!
One Saturday afternoon, I went by Liberty Travel for some help. I told the agent that while I'm not a beach person, I can totally appreciate having my toes in the sand and a drink in my hand!![]()
FH is all about seeing shows and good food. She told me she had just the place to satisfy both of us!
I ended up booking the Vegas trip with a stay at Mandalay Bay hotel. It seems Mandalay Bay has the best pools on the strip, including a faux beach setting with all the sand I could want...cabanas....pool side waiter service, etc.![]()
My next fun to-do is to select some shows ahead of time. I definitely want to see Cirque's Michael Jackson show...maybe a play... some stand up comedy.. and most definitely an Elvis impersonator! (Gotta do that in Vegas!) They even have a tour of the Pawn Stars (TV show) pawn shop! There's tons of fancy restaurants and clubs, each with their own unique atmostphere.
I'm so excited! Here we are, less than 2 months out, and FH still doesn't know where we're going! When people ask him about the honeymoon, he has to tell them about the challenge he gave me and the fact that I actually took him up on it!![]()
(And naturally, he thinks we're going on a cruise because that's what *I* wanted from the beginning. hehehe!) Now you all know too, and he doesn't!![]()
