Any of you girls volunteer..? Since I can't find a job and I'm going crazy sitting at home I want to get out there and do something. Can you recommend some places? TIA

i used to volunteer at LIJ in the geriatric area and in Margaret Tietz senior home in Hollis (I think) Queens.

where do you live? I used to volunteer at a crisis hotline, but it's in suffolk.
what about an animal shelter or something?
I've also always wanted to volunteer for the guide dog association.

I am going to start volunteering at st particks church in their soup kitchen I know they are always looking for volunteers

There are tons of organizations that need volunteers. Search online for what interests you. A good website to start at is idealist.org.
