can u do this even if u r having a day wedding? because I really want to but I dont know if its pointless because you cant see the candles...

I think you can regardless of time of day - but that's just me...
Maybe you can ask that they put an umbrella on the table - causing shade...so that you can have some form of glow??

is your reception outside??? if it is indoors most places I have been to even during the day, are dark inside.....go there during the day to check it out.
