Votive Placecards--frosted votives or clear?

For those of you who've made or attempted to make the candle escort/placecard things...can you do them with frosted candle holders or only clear? I found a good deal on pink frosted candle holders and wouldn't mind buying them early. I guess the other question is whether colored (non-frosted) candle holders even work? Thanks!

I think they would work - But I think they would look even better if since they are already frosted instead of doing paper you did clear labels with the guests names in black
Just an idea

Oh, I like that idea! Okay, I'm ordering a bunch of pink candleholders now--it can be a whole 'la vie en rose' thing

I'm doing that as well , but I bought clear votives, vellum paper (which I'm going to print on ,cut, and tape), and tealights.
I bought mine from cudge.net & they arrived in 2 days, but then I saw them cheaper on E-bay from e-favormart. He was selling 144 votive holders with candles for around $60.

I was thinking of getting these candles for the tables anyway, so even if I give the placecard thing a shot and it doesn't work out I've still got my candles. I'd like to try both the clear label and vellum idea. I'm worried that with vellum the color of the candleholders wouldn't show through as well since they're pink?

I heard someone tried the clear labels and they didn't work too well cuz they kept bubbling up. I am probably going to try but I can see where it might be a problem!

those are beautiful!! wow - they look so nice. so, how does it work? do they get hot - i mean, do people blow out the candle and take it to their table? is it their favor as well as their placecard? how are you all using them? i've never seen this before - it's so different and elegant. i really like it!
