votives place cards

votives place cards

I was wondering, I like the idea but anyone worried about them getting too hot to carry or people looking for their names reaching over them and perhaps something going wrong. My cousin bought this up when I told her I wanted to use them. What do you guys think?

Toni (tonimike) had the BEST info on this topic and really cute pics of votives she got with little stems. Actually I have been meaning to FM her about them.

Toni HELP!

Yup you can find them at AC Moore .. with the stems.. so they wont be hot to the touch..

I love the idea of having them with the stems but how tall are they? My concern is people knocking them over as they try to find their own. . .

I like them but I won't be doing them because when ppl. pick them up when they walk in the hall, they then have to carry them around the cocktail hour before they head to the ballroom.

The way Floral Terrace is set up is:

1st floor: entrance and place card table
2nd floor: cocktail hour room
3rd floor: ballroom

I think it would be too hot to carry around and annoying to but that's just my opinion.

I love this idea, and I plan on using them at my wedding...but I won't have them lit until the guests are seated at their tables, so I won't have to worry about my guests burning themselves or having wax drip out of the candleholders

unless they walk like a weable woble, there is no way that they will burn them seves or wax drippin out , the tea light is no where near where u can burn,, Put it this way iy would be like they are walking around with a wine glass,, same differeence

True I like this idea, I think Im going to use this. I hope I can catch the sale again. I was just worried about them reaching over one glass to get to another.

I love them and I am doing them

I got a really great price for the regular frosted ones I don't think they get that hot and I will put the names in alpha order. If you think about it IMO any place card that you put that's not on a seating chart it will block other names behind it i.e the tent.

This is not true at all, although it depends on your hall. My BF Kellybride just used them and she instructed the hall to not let people take them until after the cocktail hour to prevent this issue or for them not to be lit until people were seated.

Wow you bring up a very good point Chelly, My wedding is at the FT too, but they can always take the placecard and leave the holders there and the staff can bring up the holders to the guests later??? I guess that's something to ponder...
