Is anyone writing their own vows?..I want to be I'm to shy to read them myself....lol...I think I might be better off just repeating what my officiant says..lol but I think it's so nice when couples write their own.

I would love to write my own, but I'm a sap and don't think I'll be able to get through them without sobbing.

Re: Vows
we're considering it...but we're both really shy and my fh is kind of an awful writer....so i'm a little worried about it. but part of me really doesn't like the idea of just reciting the same thing everyone else recites. i don't know.....all of these decisions!!!

Re: Vows
FH and I wrote our own vows. We were kind of nervous to write them because: [1] I am a poet, and I was afraid everyone would expect some genius thing on paper form, and [2] FH was afraid his would be nothing in comparison to mine. Therefore, we decided to write ours together. We wrote it as a script as if we were having a normal conversation with one another. We are so happy with how they turned out, and Pastor April loves them too .

Re: Vows
We are going to write our own...although we haven't decided if we'll just write vows or we'll write something that each of us will repeat.

Re: Vows
we are going to go the traditional route and repeat the vows. but since we have talked about writing them, i think we may exchange letters that morning or something...

Re: Vows
i think it's really sweet when couples write their own, and i give them a lot of credit for doing it.....but i personally could never!!! there's no way i would be able to keep it together lolol
fh and i are going to recite traditional vows in church, but will be writing/exchanging our own in private.

Re: Vows
Our Officiant personalized our ceremony and our took our input to incorporate into the vows. We're going to repeat them, but it is all us.

Re: Vows
We are writing our own. We wanted to be able to say something special to each other. I am hoping that I can make it through most of them without crying. I said most bc I know I am a mush and will break down
