Vows - Wedding dresses

Vows - Wedding dresses

I'm wondering if any of you have been to Vows bridal in Massachusetts? I'm obsessed with watching wedding shows on TLC. Everytime I watch 'I found the gown' I can't believe how great those prices are for those dresses. Also, I fell in love with a Maggie Sattero dress but it's from her 2012 collection and I know it'll be hard to find so I'm hoping to find it there. Is it worth the trip (4+ hours)?

Lastly, I'm not getting married until May 2016. When should I start my search for dresses? Is it too early? lol I'm so excited I want to do everything now

I've never been. I don't think it's really ever too soon, as long as your taste doesn't change often and you're not very indecisive. I got my dress in May and our wedding is September 2015. I'll admit I almost had an anxiety attack when they took my credit card because I ALWAYS change my mind. The dress I got was the one I specifically went to try on though, and I knew once it was on and when I see photos of myself in it I don't regret it for one minute. Good luck!

I hunted my dress down, and it is from a Romona Keveza 2010 collection! I just knew I had to have it ;) I would suggest waiting until you're a year out from the wedding...spend time doing everything else, and then you go track down trunk shows!

I'm happy to hear you were able to find it. Makes me feel better about trying to find my 2012 dress.

I agree that it's never too soon. I bought mine about a year and half before the wedding. I knew exactly what I wanted and I knew it was the one. I'd call around to local places checking on the 2012 dress before traveling.

I went to vows. They didn't have a lot for me-I wanted something beachy and simple, but most of the dresses were better suited for a reception hall wedding. They don't have multiple sizes in dresses, it's really just whatever's on the rack. Before you make the trip you should call or check their website to see if they have what you're looking for.

Check out NY bridal outlet in farmingdale. I Bought my dress there last year, it's a 2012 David Tuterra that I absolutely love and got a great deal!

I bought my dress a little over a year out from my wedding, and so glad I did. It came in already and I got to try it on and fall in love with it all over again! I don't think it's too soon at all!

I bought my dress at vows last August , my wedding is in October. It's been sitting in the closet of my old room at my moms since in two garment bags left open about 3 inches like they told me to. I too went there with a specific dress in mind but they didn't have it but I found the perfect dress. And you can't beat the prices, it's definitely worth the trip.

Good to know that many of you got your dresses a year or more before your wedding! I'm going to start my search soon :)

I ordered my dress in Jan '12 when I thought we were going to get married Sept '13. It has been hanging in our bedroom since Sept. Def do your research before going, call and ask if they have your gown or something extremely similar. I'd also look into the Farmingdale place that was previously mentioned as its so much closer. Good luck in your search :)

I ordered my dress in April for my October 2015 wedding, I knew what Designer I wanted so I hunted down her trunk show. I highly reccomend callig VOWS and seeing if they have your style, make it a girls weekend. Figure if you don't I mind anything it could be bonding time with your BMs and if you do, it'll be a great deal. You have time to enjoy planning. I'm glad I started early because I really I'm digging into every aspect of my wedding. Good luck wedding planning. Btw don't forget to tell them your size over the phone to see if they have that size in stock. Bridal gowns run differently depending on each designer. I would also try RK Bridal in NYC that's where I got my dress, and for a great trunk show price.

I very briefly considered going to Vows, but I personally didn't see a point in going all that way. I wasn't really set on a specific designer, I just knew I wanted a lace gown and not strapless (I got half of that equation, lol).

I went to RK Bridal a couple of weeks ago and found my dress that was within my price range, my wedding is May 2015. My dress will be in end of October.

I do think that if you can track down your dress and you know it's what you want, why not get it now?

I'm pretty sure that's the dress I want but I won't know until I try it on. Before posting this question I never even thought about calling different stores to see if they have it. I just thought they wouldn't because the dress is pretty old but thanks to your suggestions I'll be calling RK Bridal and NY Bridal Outlet. Thanks again ladies!
