So here I am visiting my sister in the craft store capital of the world (or so I think), Charlotte, NC. We went to all of these great stores and got lots of fake flowers to make pomanders to use as aisle decorations for the church.... get back to her house to try to put one together and it would literally take like over $10 worth of flowers for each one for it to look nice! I'm so disappointed!

Yeah silks are expensive. It might be cheaper to make them out of real flowers.

I got an amazing deal on ivory roses from Micheals they look real, and believe me, i was extrememly picky when it came to this ... there were 8 in a bunch and the whole bunch was on sale for 99cents..i stocked up on those babies...im not sure if they are still on sale but it might be worth a shot to use them as 'filler'... they also had red ones...they were $3 normally.
