Waiting for the picketing to start at work.....

Waiting for the picketing to start at work.....

I am beginning to hate my job.

We finally get our raises this week....and apparently they really broke out the big bucks....

I got a 50 cent raise....whoop dee doooo!! Apparently the word around the office is this was the highest raise given, some people got 40 cents, 25 cents and one person even said she got a 10 cent raise.

10 cents....why even freaking bother. Needless to say no one is happy right now and it's a matter of time before the revolving door continues to grow.

And it's not because the company can't afford it, because the company has been putting in frivolous unnecessary BS stuff such as a custom flag outside, lighting for the flag, blinds for the inside of offices, and so on.

Please tell me I am not the only one who got shafted. The owners have even told me directly that they are very happy with me, and that I'm doing a great job. So I don't get it. My co-worker said it best when she told me 'basically they should tell everyone to simultaneously bend over for the shaft!!'

Yeah that definitely stinks...We haven't received our raises yet. We used to get them in April but they changed our fiscal year so now we don't get them until July. The raise I got last year worked out to be about 25 bucks a week. Unfortunately, it costs me about $65 a week to fill my gas tank, So yeah, thanks I can't even get half a tank of gas to get my butt to work. I told my boss they would have done me a favor and given it to me in a lump sum and left my salary alone... I could have done more with the money that way.

But I guess we should just be thankful we have jobs right??

Yes and I guess thankful we got raises at all. I calculated it and it breaks down to an extra 1K per year or so. Needless to say I have an interview lined up next week that's closer to home and paying 10K more than I'm making now.

Wow good for you!! Finding a new job is one of my resolutions for this year and I'm hoping to really follow through with it. Good luck on the interview!

Did you say 'owners'? Well... here is your red flag. Most companies 'owned' by anyone don't pay their employees. It's simple, money they give you is money directly out of their pocket.

I refuse to work for any family own business or similar type.

I was supposed to get a raise & review in September. Then I was told that everyone would be reviewed in January. Today is January 12th & it hasn't even been mentioned. I was already told that whatever the raise is it will not be retro back to September.

Bottom line: You can do your job best of your ability, be on time, stay late & always be available when needed & it doesn't make a stinkin difference.

I got a raise this year and last year, but hadn't for 2 years before that because the company was doing so poorly. I've never received more than 2% because I've been told that that's the 'cap'.

I found out that wasn't true a long time ago but the person who told me wasn't supposed to, so I can't say much about it.

I hope the interview turns out to be everything you want and that you get the job. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Good luck with your interview Janna!!!!!!!!!

We were told the company didn't 'do well' this year bc it wasn't a good year 'personally' for a lot of upper management people. BS!!!!!! DH and I work together, we f*cking got married and bought a house in 2006 and STILL got our jobs done so don't give me/us that crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
