My little brother was killed in a car accident almost 8yrs ago. My family has had an ongoing lawsuit aginst the county and road developer in Alabama where he was killed because the road was constructed incorrectly. The angle of the curve was wrong(according to several road engineers) and the company also neglected to post warning signs about a sharp curve being ahead. Finally a few months ago a court date was set. The judge then decided that before it was brought to court that both parties should try to reach a settlement through arbetration(sp?). Well, my parents are on their way home from AL. today and I am a nervous wreck awaiting their phone call. I wanted to be there with them, but they told me that if the case does go to court that they will need me there then to testify. I just want this to finally reach a conclusion and for my parents and brother to get the justice they deserve.

Heidi, I am so sorry for your loss..

Its tragic enough to suffer such a loss, but even more its terribly that this ongoing lawsuit hasn't allowed your family to try and put some closure on this and gain some relief, if possible

I know that the waiting definitely must be the hardest part for you right now - I hope you get some news soon

What a tragedy...I hope that justice is served and that everyone comes out happy in the end. It's a shame how things aren't done the way they should be because someone cut corners.....

we too are waiting on a lawsuit settlement....3 1/2 years in the making

I just got off the phone with my parents and no agreement was reached. The attorneys are still attempting to reach one, but my parents are not really optimistic.
