Walking down the aisle and entrance drama

Walking down the aisle and entrance drama

My parents are estranged, but not divorced. Basically they barely speak at all. I dont know how they would feel or act if they were to be partnered up for the introductions at our wedding. The thing is my wedding is doesnt seem the appropriate place to display my family's problems.
Is there a less awkward, less obvious way to have both my parents introduced without causing too much attention to the fact that they cant stand each other??

The only thing you can do is talk to them both and tell them you expect them to behave like grown-ups OR skip the intros altogether. The bigger question is where are you seating them? Together or apart? If apart, it seems that the family problems will already be on display, and I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about intros.

They will be seated at the same table. Skipping the intros would mean skipping FH's parents who deserve introductions. Stil don't know how to make this less awkward

I agree about speaking to them individually. Introducing them together should not be a big deal ...all they have to do is walk out together. They may surprise you with what they would be willing to do on your special day.

You can pair them up with other people. (Forgive me because I don't know who is in your family) For instance, your mother can be paired with your brother, her brother, her father, the ring bearer, etc. Your father can be paired with your sister, his sister, his mother, the flower girl, etc.

People do this all the time. I've even seen BP escorting parents. So many options.

I have the same problem. I wanted them introduced together, because they are my parents even though they are divorced and they understood. But you could have them introduced with other people or alone. If it means a lot to you explain that to them.

They can walk out together, but they don't have to hold hands and act like they like eachother. Maybe they should put their differences aside for you and your special day. Def sit down and talk to them.

I had the same problem. After advice on here and some thought about what to do I decided to have at the church:
Dad walked me down and sat with his girlfriends
Mom walked down with her hubby
Receptrion:
Father of the bride escourted by GF
Mother of bride escourted by HUbby's name.
They were happy they did not have to be paired up and all went smooth for an excellent evening.

i'm not trying to sound harsh here... but i would ask them to suck it up for you. It's your wedding and they can at least pretend for all of 5 minutes to be civil. That's not asking too much. Trust me, if my parents are capable of doing it... yours can too!

i agree - tell them how many girls on here you know have parents that are deceased, like myself, and remind them that they are lucky in sharing in your day! its YOUR day, not their day to fight. they were able to be civil long enough to conceive you, they can stand one more day!
