Walking down the aisle- need your opinion

Walking down the aisle- need your opinion

I had asked my older brother originally to walk me down the aisle but my mom thinks it would be appropriate to ask my grandfather to do so. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings so do you think it would be weird to have the both of them walk me? Has anyone else done this? Also how do I go about the 'father/daughter' dance if i have them both walk me?
Then comes to whole announcing of my bridal party- Does that mean i will have to announce my brother and his wife then both my grandparents as well? I know this may seem very trivial at the moment but it's stressing me out as to how to go about this.

I think it would be great if they both walked you down. It would be showing the generations of your family and show the two men who were special to you all your life, bring you to met the man you will spend the rest of your life with. I think it would be great. And if they do both walk you down then I would put them both in the reception entrance, but you really dont have to put either to enter the reception but grandparents usualy are introduced. Who is your mother walking down with?

It is quite appropriate to have your grandfather walk you, if you are close to him. Just because it's appropriate, doesn't mean you have to. You could also split the father-daughter dance...half way one person cuts in to finish the song with you.

That's a good point, have your GF walk your mom in, its an honor for him, and you don't have to say anything to you bro about either sharing the honor or asking him to step down.

So I could do it then...... I wasn't planning on announcing my grandparents or FI's grandparents coz' he didn't think it's necessary. Unfortunately both our parents are divorced and our mothers are with other people (not married tho). His father as well has re-married and mine died 2 years ago. We just didn't want to have so many people announced if we didn't need to.

So that means... i will need to have my grandparents and his announced as well.

it's your wedding you can do what you want, and what feel right for your situations,

Role to think about:
walk mom down aisle
walk you down aisle (can be both)
don't have to do 'father' dance.
don't have to announce them at reception, can just do bridal party.

(I am having both my parents walk me down.)

I think it should be your decision about who walks you down the aisle. What makes you feel the most comforatable- walking down the aisle with your brother or with your grandfather, or both? But, whoever walks you down the aisle should be announced at the reception.

My older brother is walking my down the aisle and instead of Father/ Daughter Dance I,m doing Brother/Sister Dance. We are dancing to Christina Aguilera 'I Turn To You.'

Both is good. As for the dancing & such, just have one start and the other cut in (in a choreographed way, of course).

FH is walking his sister down the aisle with his mom in a few weeks.

I have to say though that she asked him over a year ago and just a couple of months ago he heard his mom was doing it too, so he does feel slighted. So be sure that you tell your brother that your grandfather is also walking you down because they are the two most important men in your life (aside from FH).....

I think it would be very nice to have both. I had both my dad & my daughter (also a BM) walk me up the aisle.
