walking down the isle

walking down the isle

hi all:
I am having an interfaith marriage. For all the jewish wedding I have attended, the bride has walked down the ise (facing chuppah) on the right....for all the catholic wedding I have attended, the bride walked down the isle on the left (facing alter). Does it really matter? Please provide your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Typically in a Jewish wedding, bride is walked down the aisle by both parents - so bride is in the middle!

Yes, you are correct. It's a long story, but my sister was married 5 years ago and my mother and father both walked my sister down the isle. It was very nice. My mother was re-married at the time and my step father (who has been in our lives for 15+ years) walked down the isle alone and people was questioning who this man was. My mother was upset by their comments (from the groom's side of the family). anyway, I asked my mother if she would be upset with my father only walking me down and she was ok with it, this way, she can walk down with her husband. So, what do I do. i am really interested in your comments. Please let me know your thoughts.

I'm having an inter-faith wedding too. I will be on the left.

ETA: only my dad is walking me down the aisle.
