Re: Walking down the isle
Think like a Diva. You will be the prettiest most glamourous, happiest ,best dressed woman in the room. No one will look better than you that day at all. You should want them to look. I felt like that too early on. After seeing the ladies here take pics of thier weddings. They all looked so beautiful. I knew that I would be too. So I stopped worrying and start being excited!

Re: Walking down the isle
I typically hate attention and people's eyes on me so this freaked me out too plus I get red in the face I can tell you I was worried too but the day of I zoned everyone out and focused while walking down on people I knew one at a time until I got up there. I just looked at the people out on the aisle. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

Valium??? Just kidding...this is the only thing I am worried about as well. Just focus on your groom at the end of the aisle and you will be fine!!!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but . . . girl what are you doing online less than 24 hours before you walk down the aisle yourself?? And here I decided not to call you just to see how you were doing, and you're online!!!!

Re: Walking down the isle
I'm nervous as h e l l!!!! Although people state I like being the center of attention, I really don't!! I've forewearned my father and he said he'll be nervous too, so we'll be nervous together walking together! It's all I can do! My MOH knows too and she said she'll be with me until the time she has to start walking down.

Oh honey i'm right there with you!! It is the ONE and ONLY thing i am absolutely dreading... like nightmares dreading! Unfortunately there's not really a solution! I of course wanted to elope in the carribean, but my FH wanted the big party! Damn him!
You have 2 options... drugs and alcohol! At least those are the suggestions i've gotten for the same post! Not very good ones, i know. Lets just say that i am going to be sticking myself in front of a fan that whole day to keep myself from freaking out and sweating to death from nerves! Other than that, i'm hoping that i'll be so busy that i won't have time to think about it.

OMG.....i wanted to elope in a caribbean setting too!!!!!!!!! isn't this whole big family involved wedding a bit much????
and yes, this is in part WHY i wanted to elope....to avoid all the fuss and attention...cause in the end, i don't care about the whole wedding at all....just the marriage.

You won't even realize that everyone is looking at you. You'll be too focused on your DH at the altar, you won't see anyone or anything else.

Re: Walking down the isle
I am so freaked out about the walking down the aisle that I already feel like crying right now.
I have talked to FH about it. It's so hard to pin point what is the one thing that bothers me. I told him I may be to be alone for a few minutes before the ceremony... crying it all out then be fine!!!
Then he tells me my Make-up will be messed up.
My mom is supposed to walk me down the aisle. Now I am thinking I should do it on my own so I don't get as nervous and emotional.

Re: Walking down the isle
I'm more worried about certain people fainting. What I agree with the first response, feel like a Queen and on top of the world. If not, if you have someone walking with you (a dad, mom , brother, sister, son, daughter, grandparent, uncle, aunt or friend) cling close to them. Hold their hand tight if you must. They'll understand and be there for you. Your not alone. Your FH will be at the end. If you just look at him you'll be find.
ADDED: To be perfectly honest I'm more nervious about telling all the witness how I feel. Especially with my FIL's being there. I'm just going to stare at joe. But at a prewedding ceremony, I was shaking so much. When my FH made his vows, I almost said ditto. But I said what I felt and before I could dive into his arms to hide, it was done and we kissed.

Yeah i definitely know what you're talking about and i agree 100%! That's why (please no one take offense) some of the stuff on here that brides worry about... i could care less about! To me, who cares?!?! As long as you end up married, than you were successful in what you set out to do. But here i am... 4 months away from my wedding. The one thing that has kept me sane throughout this whole thing is that its OUR wedding. We're paying for half of it, so we've done what we really wanted. And i'm trying to make it as comfortable for myself as i can! Sometimes if you let everyone else dictate your decisions and you feel this way (about people staring, walking down the isle, etc) it can get the best of you and be quite overwhelming! So try to do what you really want to do, not what others want!

Re: Walking down the isle
Yep - worried about this too.... I am pretty outgoing but the idea that everyone is going to stop and be looking at me freaks me out! Plus, since my dad passed away years ago, I am going to be walking by myself down the aisle (I wouldn't have it any other way). This helped me make the decision to do our pictures before hand - at least I will have seen FH before the big event.
I decided I was going to give FH some kind of signal to come get me if I freak too much and can't make it down the aisle so he can come get me!
In general I am going to try to block out all of the people there and just keep my eyes on FH.
Good luck to everyone!

Re: Walking down the isle
I felt like that walking down the aisle for my brother's wedding (I was a BM but walked alone..which I was not prepared for) but it's a 30sec. deal. I got over it!
