wallapaer removal.UPDATED

Whats the easiest way...?>
Well we actualkly borrowed a steamer from someone and we were done in under 3 hours.. If you ever get one.. Pull the paper off and then steam off the glue.. And we painted the kitchen … we added some color into our life:)

Buy Diff - wallpaper removal - I just used it and it's very simple - directions are on it too.

FI and I were at home and his mom had put up wallpaper 20 years ago by applying glue to the WALL It took dayssss to take it off. If you have something like that the best thing to do is go get the wallpaper removal stuff from home depot and a spray bottle. Spray the walls with water to moisten the glue and then put on that stuff - let it sit for a minute and remove. Right off!!! (too bad we figured this work after half the room was done )

Re: wallapaer removal.

use a roller instead! our 'new' home had wall paper that they had up for over 30 years that was a pain in the a$$ to get off. We tried the spray bottle but it didn't work. We used the roller (just a regular paint roller) to apply and since it went on thicker, it soaked in better and came right off!

Good luck!

There are things called 'Paper Tiger'- I think...and they have little teeth in them. You run them over the wall and they put little tiny holes in the wallpaper. You then spray- or roll the Dif on and wait a little bit. The wallpaper should come off a little easier. The holes left by the Paper Tiger actually let the Dif seep in. Then you should be able to get the wallpaper off and the glue can be scraped off with a plastic scraper.
We just moved in a house that had the ugliest wallpaper. It was a big job removing it all, but it make a huge difference!!
Home Depot has wallpaper removal stuff in its own section near the wallpaper- everything should be in one place!

YES I FORGOT THE ROLLER!!!! THAT WAS IMPERATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't like the roller thing - it seemed to take forever to get the stuff off and didn't let it seep in enough - if you can pull the paper off without ripping I'd try that. But you are there will the wall so you'll know!

ooh boy, I really feel for you. My husband and I took a border down that was in our bathroom. It was a real pain. We also bought diff, and the scraper. You can rent a steamer, that will also help alot!

Re: wallpaper removal.

I was watching some TLC show and they used fabric softener to take off the wallpaper. They put it in a bucket with water and with a sponge soaked the wall. On the show it came right off.
