want to cry, ceremony vent (long)

want to cry, ceremony vent (long)

i just want to enjoy this planning! i just found out on wed. that a catholic priest will not perform a ceremony outside. yikes. my fh is jewish i am catholic and i so badly want both faiths represented. my fh could really care less and would prefer a judge which i am dead set against. now i could move the ceremony inside-easy right? no. our place is real small. only 2 rooms..it would be almost impossible b/c the priest also said he would not do a ceremony 'by the bar'. so now i am looking into interfaith chapels to have our ceremony in instead.
fh thinks its ridiculous to have to 'travel' between the ceremony and reception! hello! this is how most people do it anyway! he thinks it's a big inconvenience! he is also put off that he has to sign a document stating that we will raise our children to be catholics...it's just been miserable for me inside my head.....i feel like i am forcing him to include religion but it is so important to me. is it worth it?
oh, and i haven't even spoken to a rabbi yet! i am SORRY this was so long needed to talk about it.

Maybe you could look into a community church. They are non-denominational and would probably allow both a priest and a rabbi to marry you.

I think the historic chapel does both... but I am not sure

thank you!
someone FM'd me and mentioned Unitarian churches-does anyone know if they let you use their church b/c i think there is one in Huntington which would not be far at all to travel to.
thanks

Relax. I am technically Catholic and my FI is technically Jewish. Neither of us are religious, but we are having an interfaith ceremony to please the parents. You are not completely correct.

A catholic priest will never marry outside of a church if you are marrying another catholic. However, if you are marrying someone jewish, they will if you get a dispensation. Just say that the Jewish side would not feel comfortable in a denominational place.
