I originally had 8 Bridesmaids. One dropped out because she lives upstate and really couldn't afford it. I understood. Anotehr changed her number in Florida and failed to mention this to me. I haven't heard from her since March...I was hurt beacsue I was her MOH and it cost me a fortune between travel, gift, gown, BP, etc...so by teh summer, I kind of just excluded her when she changed her number and stopped replying to her emails.

(Background info: Girl is on all types of anti dressants because she and her husband both came from filthy rich families and she and her husband could not deal with reality when tehy had to pay their own bills. Phone was disconnected, $$$$$ charged on teh CC's...she was having panic attacks. SHe has always been spoiled, but she was my friend. My first friend when I moved to LI in 1993...)

So I get a phone call last night from FLorida on my cell....

I'm so sorry. I wasn't the one to disconnect my phone, the phone company did it. So obviously I am callign now. I wanted to know if you have decided on any BM dresses yet...

I know, and it's on Leap Year, right? That's...omg...only every 4 years...That would be 2004, not 2005! I am so sorry!!!

(So she goes on to give me her sob story. She is just so broke...but her husbands family just decided that they could have their house in FLorida and they would take over their condo a few miles from there~the condo that they gave them as tehir weding present...they needed more room for their DOGS!
SHe tells me about teh two cruisies she has been on in teh past two years...)

I have to laugh. SOme people just don't get it...

She is eagerly expectign her invitation so she can book her flight up to NY...

There's RICH an dthen there is FILTHY RICH. When your allowance is equal to my salary, there is a problem.

I always told her that she needed to snap in to reality, no I can not 'Just tell my parents to pay for it'... (Her usual response to anything I had ever wanted but couldn't afford...)

As hurt as I am, it's just so like her that I can't be mad at her. Though she is booted, if teh dress was available still, she would be in my wedding.

it's alright. we all have met irresistible people in our lives. people who for whatever reason we just can't shake...no matter how crappy they are to us.

My 'friend' found out she wasn't in my bridal party because we wanted to keep it small. She hasn't talked to me since. Guess I made the right choice in BM's.

I don't understand people. Maybe its the heat in florida. My sis's best friend from like 2nd grade until their 3rd year of college was in her wedding, she didn't even get her dress shortened.
