I went to a gown trunk show and they were doing raffles to win prizes. Tell me how this girl that was there won up to $3,000 for a gown. I so wish that was me. Now, this the insane part of it. The girl that won wasn't getting married. She wasn't even engaged. I was so pissed off when they asked her when she was getting and her response was 'oh I don't know but hopefully soon'. Then I looked at her finger and no engagement ring. I was so mad
These girls attend these shows to just go for the hell of it and win prizes and for what. Here we are the REAL brides and we win nothing. How outrages is that? I was fuming.
That prize could have gone to a bride to be.

i don't really think that's a fair assumption of you ...
my husband and i had been dating for 5 1/2 years... and we had talked about getting engaged but he was just waiting to have the ring custom-made....
we booked our hall without actually being engaged, but i knew we would be engaged soon!
that could be the girl's case.... so just keep an open mind! it stinks that you didn't win... but maybe she did deserve it

I feel for you because something like that happened a few months ago. The Garden City Hotel and Fortunoff had this wedding of your dreams sweepstakes...$50,000!!! The couple that won weren't even engaged! I, along with every other engaged girl there, wanted to kill them! How unfair!

I heard one of the guys there ask her again when she's getting married and her response to him was 'she was ready but he wasn't. How they have been together for a long time and she wants marriage'. Yup, I over heard that and I looked at my mother and FMIL with this rage.
I could understand your situation b/c the ring was getting custom made but it sure wasn't her case. So I don't think she deserve anything. I was thinking maybe she will go home and tell him that she won a prize up to $3,000 and him change is mind but then again I was like 'that's only $3,000 and a wedding cost more than that.

I personally do not think it's fair. I never went to any bridal events before I was engaged and registered to win prizes. I went to a few shows with my sil when she was planning her wedding but I didn't dare enter my name in for prizes. It's just not fair to the ladies who actually have a date set and are preparing for their wedding. I'm sorry you didn't win. Maybe next time!
