Wanted: Waterfront Wedding Suggestions

I was hoping someone might have some suggestions. I'm in the initial stages of planning our wedding, for either September or November of next year. (I hope I'm not too late getting started). My plan was to either get married at my church and go to a reception spot, or have the ceremony at the reception spot.

I want to have the reception at a place on the water, anywhere from Nassau County to Western Suffolk County, unless there is someplace extraordinary farther east than, say, Islip.

I want an early afternoon ceremony, especially if it's November, so we can have our pictures taken just as the sun is setting (hopefully it doesn't rain), or start the reception as the sun begins to set. The key would be a fantastic place with great views.

I'm getting married at John Anthony's in Babylon. It's on the water overlooking the Robert Moses bridge out toward Fire Island. It's absolutely gorgeous!!! And not badly priced either! You should check it out....ask for Patty!!!

Everyone really enjoyed the affair. We had the Skylite room.

We got married at the Snapper inn, in Oakdale, it's an outdoor tent and they also have a room that could fit about 50 people. It's on the water, but it's not a great view. But the price is right. If your in the area check it out, there is also another place on that same road, I don't know the name of it, but it looks cute.

I can vouch for the beautiful water atmosphere of John Anthony's on the Water (in Babylon), too!!! We're set for this fall there!!! Can't wait!!!
