Wardrobe Help!! Matinee of Wicked?

FH and I went to a matinee of Thoroughly Modern Millie back in Feb, and I wore heels and black dress pants. That's what I would go with. But you'll see people in a range of styles- there will be people there in jeans and sneakers. Though I only go to a few shows a year, it seems like people don't really dress up for the theater anymore.

ETA- I am also ALWAYS cold in theaters too, which is why even in the summer I'd bring a sweater.

FMIL is taking FH and I to see a matinee performance of Wicked today and I have no idea what to wear. I know matinees are more casual, but are they sneaker/jean casual or black pants/pointy shoes casual? thanks!!

black pants/pointy shoes casual, I would think. I personally do not like to wear jeans to the theatre.

I saw it on a weekday evening and it seemed like anything goes! I would probably wear a cute, light skirt with a nice top and nice shoes.
