Warning - My center stone was loose

Warning - My center stone was loose

So I was playing around with my ering on Wednesday and I noticed that my center stone (round with 4 prongs) could twist a little in the setting. It just moved around, not from side to side, so I don't think it could have fallen out. But I took it back to the jewler today to get it fixed.

Just a warning - my jewler said it can sometimes happen especially if you bang your hand on something, so you girlies should check yours, make sure you can't move it! He said to check it every six months or so, like when you clean it.

He is fixing it for free of course, but wanted to pass along the info.

Im constantly messing with my diamond to make sure that it doesnt feel loose cause I hit it on things all the time at work. Makes me very nervous. I also get it cleaned and checked every few months or so.
This is great advice though. Check your bling ladies!!

OMG I just had to go into the city to get my e-ring tightened because of the same problem---my round stone with four prongs was loose!--I was pissed, but I guess it's common....although it really shouldn't happen!

thanks! I check mine all the time. I clean it once a week so i usually check then. thankfully i havent had a problem with mine.

but i guess it really depends on the setting and how the stone is set in.

I wonder if the metal is a factor too. isnt platnium softer? mine is white gold.
