WARNING TOM ROMAN PHOTO

Major issues with photographer. If you have him booked call him now!!! My wedding is next Sat the 22nd. I called Tom about 4x a week since May 15th and never heard back. I finally got him on the phone this past Monday (a mere 12 days before the wedding) and he tells me he had double knee replacement surgery and got me a fill-in photographer. Mind you, he knew THREE months ago that he wasn't going to be available b/c of the surgery. Now, I am sure the fill-in he got will be fine (we are meeting with them on Monday a mere 5 days before the wedding) but not to tell us! After I had it out with him and he didn't see that the proper business practice would have been to call and offer someone else or warn me, my father had it out with him. It got ugly....He is ending his business as of this year but if you have him booked CALL HIM NOW!!!!!!!

I saw 9 photographers and specifically chose him b/c he works alone and he is the photographer and I wouldn't get handed off. Needless to say, I got bit in the tush.

Sorry to hear this happened to you, I think he took this long to call you back b/c he knew you would not be happy with what he had to tell you. I think to compensate he should have given you 2 photographers, one to shoot color and one to shoot b&w just to compensate, who to tell if this new guy has the expertise to catpture everything. I wish you all the best with this situation. I cannot imagine how you feel. Photos are vey important and I would not want to hear any kind of mess from my photographer at such a late time in my planning.

I agree. I 'm sure he waited to tell you this close to your date because what else could you do at this point? I'm sure it will work out for the best, but it was unprofessional of him to not call you.
