Was anyone else at Bloomies tonight?

I met up with AlexLynn- who is now my first official LIW girl whom I've met in person.. anyway- it was craziness, but there was free booze and the gift bags were top notch..

A couple of other girls said they were coming- it was too crazy to find anyone!!

I practically just got home from running an errand in the City. I totally would have gone if I had known.

How was it?

Re: Was anyone else at Bloomies tonight?

It was nuts-- lots of vendors pushing things-- all the craziness of a bridal expo- but a little nicer, and a lot more room..

Karen Duffy was there doing cooking demo's.. apparently she is now an 'entertaining expert'.. news to me.

There was free champagne and also that new vodka- Hypnotic was there making their version of martini's..

Giftbag- chatch from Vera Wang, Waterford- cookies! A really nice cheese knife.. Bobbi Brown make-up samples.. um-- lots more stuff-- heavy good stuff!

Alex was so nice- and we found each other despite me being really late..

We also got interviewed by a reporter from the New York Observer..

It wasn't an expo- I was just comparing it to that-- it was an event called The Wedding Party- to get people to register there. It was just for tonight.

So, did you register there or just take in the free stuff?

I registered for two actual things-- then I made up numbers to put down on my card.

I am already registered at Fortunoff, Crate and Barrel and Williams Sonoma.

A fourth place is a bit much- although we have not done bedding and bath, or luggage yet.

But to answer your question- I just took the free stuff.

I love free stuff

Yes, 4 would be a lot. Especially since Bloomingdales is so close to Fortunoff. I did Fortunoff and Williams-Sonoma.

I love Williams-Sonoma so much. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Since I've already been living on my own and have a lot of stuff, I registered for all of the stuff that I have been coveting. (Apparently my guests like that store too. For my shower everything was from WS, very little Fortunoff)

Yeah- I have been living alone for 7 years, this last year with FH... we had everything, but registered for GOOD stuff.. We have so much stuff gone off our registries-- I don't know what I'll do before the shower.. Maybe I will need that Bloomie's registry for bedding- I can close out C&B- almost everything is gone. we wanted to only register for stuff we need-- and not go overboard- now I feel like we were skimping.

Oh, the problems of a bride to be!!

We did WS -- I know exactly what you mean -- all the stuff I would never buy myself but covet...

I moved into my apartment 3 years ago While, I have lived on my own, I have always had roommates in the past. I had nice dishes when I started out, but not much more. (I had ok pots and some other stuff too)

Well, I didn't know if I would ever get married so I asked for things I wanted for xmas and b'days. I have nice flatwear, a kitchen aid. I also updated my cookwear. They were selling a really good brand called Sitram at Homegoods and I redid my set.

So my registry was the really good/formal stuff (China, crystal and silver) and my dream stuff (WS).

They messed up for my shower and I ended up with 2 ice cream makers But they were so accomodating when I returned the extra.

I would never buy myself an ice cream maker, even though it is my passion in the sweet department.

How did you live without it before And what do you do without the rice maker? Do you actually use a pot

I will be having an ice cream party once FH and I have a . I guess you'll have to throw your family a panini party

As you said, it's tuff to be a

Re: Was anyone else at Bloomies tonight?

hi everyone!!

i see it was already reviewed, but the bloomies event was fabulous!

drinks, goodies, and a LIW gal - what more can ya ask for??

i've only registered at crate and barrel so far, so i added a bloomies registry to the mix because fh and i need just about EVERYTHING.

if there were other LIW girls there, sorry we missed you amidst the craziness

I was there - I was looking for you Randi, but it was really crazy. When I told my Fiance I was meeting people from my 'cult' he said I have gone over the edge!! haha...

It was good. The bridesmaids dresses were really nice. Too bad none of my BM's are 6 foot and 100 lbs like the models - they looked great!

Loved the free drinks and the goody bag - although I missed out on the Elegant Bride bag - was there anything good in it?
