Was anyone else separated from FH or DH during the blackout?
I was. I walked straight to my dad's house cause it was closer to my job in Manhattan. FH went home to Brooklyn. We spoke once in 16 hours (phones were dead) and I didn't see him again until 8:30 last night. I missed my baby.

Me He was in MA and I was on LI. But some how I was able to get him on my cell and he had power, so he watched the news and kept me updated.

Mine was working in Queens. And he's STILL doing mandatory OT. Yesterday and today were his RDO's (Regular Days Off), and he's been working 12am - 12pm. The $$ is great, but I feel so bad for him!!!

Me too....My DH works on LI so was able to get home relatively quickly and I was stuck working in the City until last night. The phones in my office were working though so we talked quite a bit.

me! Mine had JUST left work in Bellmore to go home to Brooklyn. I wanted him to turn around, being there were no traffic lights working, but he wanted to get home to his mother who was home alone---

Sort of... mine was home when the power went out but had to stay at the fire dept. on standby most of the night. I was bored and lonely and almost killed FMIL but thankfully he was home by midnight (we got our power back early.)

I'm with Jenn and Tammy, my DH was working 12 hour shift mandatory overtime.
But it's OVER now!!! YAY!!!
