Was anyone nervous/scared about TTC?

Just the thought that now me and DH can have babies is frightening (but in a good way) to me!!! We both want children so much...but we've agreed to wait a while.

I'm not quite sure what about it all that makes me nervous and afraid...but it does!

Good Luck to all the TTC's...hopefully one day soon I'll be chatting over here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baby dust to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm not exactly at the point where we're TTC, but I have the same feelings as you, as does DH. We've decided to wait, but would be sooooooo excited if we were 'surprised' too!

Ever see the Johnsons & Johnsons commercial where they talk about guys night out and it's a father with his two sons and the last line is 'Having a baby changes everything'? It gives me chills everytime I see it! Mostly excitement chills! I'm excited to be at this point in life, married and ready for the next step!

Definitely I'm excited, but no too scared.
DH and I had a cute moment yesterday.

I asked him if he's afraid the err........ 'intimacy' might slow down when we have a baby.
He said Nope, 'we'll be just fine in that department, I'm sure' with a devilish grin.
That's when I KNEW he is ready

That's funny - I didn't think people really felt that way either. It's wierd to think that now we are can have a baby at any time we want. Not that we weren't 'allowed' before, but you know what I mean. Like if we wanted to tomorrow, we could!

Totally nervous. We are planning to TTC towards the end of 2004 ... but it is still an overwhelming feeling that I can't explain. Excited at the thought that we would bring a 'little one of us' into the world but nervous and scared that I won't be able to do it right and be able to do it all ... raising a child, keeping up with the house, work, etc ...

But I do know that I want to be a mom and I will give it my all, so god willing, I hope it one day comes true.

Good Luck to all of you. The anxiety is completely normal - or so I'm told!

Re: Was anyone nervous/scared about TTC?

I am terrified of having kids.....I definitely want children but just am very nervous. I am scared of labor but what scares me most is being a mother, losing my independence, etc..

I have always been babied by my parents and even at 31 I am still a 'kid' to them....I cannot imagine being that provider (both emotionally and financially) to a child....this is the hardest part for me- being a parent- as good as my parents were/are to me.

ETA: Lately I havent been sleeping - I am consumed with thoughts of this...while we are not TTC yet, we are definitely at that age where it is going to happen soon. DH wants kids more than me I think...

I am most scared about losing us, our time, not being able to do my volunteer work as often as I do now. Doing it right and the list goes on and on
