I had the persussionist and I and my guests enjoyed it as well. It was not expensive.

Also addded the Viennese Hour (sp?) totally worth it gave me an extra hour to party and my guests enjoys a longer reception and more food.

To me those are all not necessary expenses and I would skip them. Most people probably would not remember them afterwards. JMO

We only had the percussionist from what you had listed. It was maybe an extra $500.00 but I think it was totally worth it!!!!
The others...cigar roller and plasma screens I dont think you really need though.

I would say the percussionist is worth it. We used Pat Davis.....LOVED having it!!

Just my personal opinion but I think the plasmas are distracting.

Cigar rollers- def. don't think it's necessary, especially if you are trying to keep cost down. I didn't even know people did this until I came on this site haha

i didn't have any of those things, I don't think you need them...especially the plasma tv....it reminds me of a sports bar IMO

Re: Was it worth it??

the hall had plasma screens and they were definitely worth it

during the cocktail party, we played our baby pictures

and then before we walked in, for the 20 minutes when ppl were sitting down already, we had our wedding picture slideshow

we had the percussionist---and it made a big difference---but it wasn't a necessity--something we just wanted

the other 2 things--plasma screens and cigar roller---i don't think you need them at all.

honestly we just bought cigars and had matchbooks made up and that was just as big a hit.

I had all three except I had a string quartet instead of pecusionist. I love the cigar roller, but now I look back and wish I didnt spend so much money because it goes by so fast and now we are trying to buy a house and wish I had that extra money

You said it! I was considering the a cigar roller to surprise DH but glad I didn't. When I told him he laughed it off, asked how much it would have been, then asked if he could just have the money.

To keep your budget low, I would not add those details... then again, it depends on how much you want them!! All about priorites when you are cutting things out!! GL!

Re: Was it worth it??

I have heard good and bad....I went to a bunch of weddings and honestly didnt even notice the plasmas, plus I think the same pics over and over again for the extra 800 bucks is a lil.....

Cigar roller might be a cool thing, if your fam is into that!!! To me its not worth the extra money though.....

Percussionist!!! IF you have a big enough establishment...I would say go for it!!! TWOTY had it and it was awesome. Ive heard great things about it!!! My friend has a video of her grama playing on the drums at her wedding lol its adorable.

The MAIN focus for us...were not the extras!!! The food was most important!!! Everyone always talks about the food.

Re: Was it worth it??

our 'unnecessary' splurge was the trumpet players for the church. we added them last minuet and they were $500 for an hour and a half. but i have to say when i pulled up they totally set the scene and i felt like a princess. everyone LOVED them and i have to say, totally worth it!!

the cigar rollers is nice, but people will have to go outside to smoke them and leave your party. i say, only splurge on things that are for YOU

Unnecessary to all! Just my opinion.

Re: Was it worth it??

We got the plasma screen with the zap shots thrown in- if we would've paid, I wouldn't have been happy.

They were playing music videos on the screens (because they never took pics during CH to put up there- they started taking them as people walked into the reception.) My 1st dance was Michael Buble- but they had a VERY dramatic Jessica Simpson video on in the background (no sound- just Jessica crying and pulling her own hair ) My dad hated it.

Once they started posting the pictures of guests up there it was better.

I didn't have a percussionist- def. don't think its worth it, IMHO
